Yemen’s President: September 21 Revolution Continues to Defend Yemen and Support Palestine

News - Yemen: Yemen's President Mahdi al-Mashat on Saturday marked the 11th anniversary of Yemen’s September 21 Revolution with a televised address, vowing that the uprising remains committed to defending Yemen’s sovereignty and standing firmly with Palestine against the Zionist entity.

Al-Mashat congratulated fighters on Yemen’s frontlines, loyal citizens across the country, and “every free Yemeni,” describing the revolution as a turning point that restored the nation’s dignity after years of foreign guardianship and dependence. He said the anniversary comes at a time when the Arab and Islamic world continues to “bleed from the crimes of the Israeli enemy,” citing recent airstrikes and assassinations in Hamas negotiating delegation in Doha, as well as attacks on civilian neighborhoods in Sana’a, Al-Jawf, and Hodeidah.

The President stressed that the Palestinian cause has been central to the revolution “from the very first moment,” noting that Yemen has prevented the Israeli enemy from expanding navigation routes in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and beyond. He warned that without the revolution, Yemen might have been pushed into normalization with the Zionist entity under American pressure.

Al-Mashat renewed Yemen’s pledge of solidarity with Gaza, condemning the silence of Arab and Islamic governments. He pointed to the attempted assassination of a Hamas negotiating delegation in Doha as proof of the Zionist entity’s determination to dominate the region with US and Western backing. “The message of aggression on Qatar was clear — their turn will come,” he said, urging Arab leaders to recognize that “the American bases in the region exist to protect the Israeli enemy, not you.”

He vowed that Yemen’s Armed Forces will continue to strike “deep into the usurping Zionist entity,” describing the military campaign as an expression of the Yemeni people’s will. He also called on citizens in occupied areas to reject foreign military presence and demanded aggressor states compensate Yemen for years of destruction and blockade.

Concluding his speech, al-Mashat paid tribute to Yemen’s martyrs, particularly victims of recent Israeli enemy attacks, and promised to continue on the path of “radical change” until the establishment of a just, independent Yemeni state.

The September 21 Revolution, led by Ansarullah in 2014, toppled Yemen’s former government and ended years of US tutelage over the country’s decision-making. Since 2015, Yemen has faced a devastating US-Saudi-led military intervention. In recent years, Yemen has expanded its regional role by targeting the Zionist entity with missiles, drones, and naval operations in support of Gaza, positioning the revolution as both a national liberation struggle and part of the wider Arab-Islamic resistance front.
