The summit in Qatar saw impressive participation, with the majority of nations represented at the highest official levels—presidents, princes, leaders, and kings. Only a few had no legitimate standing to represent their countries. Anyway, many were present in their official roles as presidents, princes, kings, and leaders. Yet they all attended, purporting to represent the Islamic world and all Arab countries, despite the fact that some of them lack any legal standing to represent their country, as they were even overtly hostile to their own people. But what came of it? As always—just broad, empty statements, lacking any tangible or decisive action.
Such weak and poor outcomes, following such high-level participation, only emboldened the Israeli enemy to persist in its unchecked aggression—not only against Qatar, but others too. An assault on Qatar signals an assault on the entire Gulf, on all its nations, on the wider Arab world, and on the entire Islamic world.
The Israeli enemy dares to brazenly assault Qatar, despite all its political weight, its wide-ranging international relations, and its substantial economic ties and shared interests with many nations, including major powers in both East and West. None of these factors meant anything to the Israeli enemy; it shows no regard for Qatar’s political weight, ties, international standing, and economic partnerships with major powers. Indeed, it dismissed all of that and proceeded to target Qatar.
This serves as a stark warning to the entire Islamic world—to the Gulf states, their governments, leaders, and everyone else. It means that the Israeli enemy will not respect any such considerations. Whether it’s significant economic interests with Western or Eastern countries, strong international ties, substantial political weight, or even the presence of American military bases once hoped to provide protection and deterrence—none of it matters.
In fact, the Israeli enemy sees American bases in any country as serving its own interests, smoothing the path for its aggression. American military, intelligence, and political influence—far from providing protection—actually facilitates Israeli attacks on any country it chooses, even those who once believed that having close military, intelligence, political, and economic ties with America would safeguard them. As for the Americans, they do not regard these considerations either; their main concern is to provide absolute support for the Israeli enemy. They are full partners in the Zionist scheme, seeing themselves as directly engaged in carrying out the Zionist agenda alongside the Israeli enemy.
Therefore, the summit should have yielded practical and effective outcomes. Has the condition of this entire Ummah, the two-billion-strong Muslim community—with all its immense weight, its vast capacities, resources, geographic span, and elements of strength—truly reached a point where it has no options or opportunities left for tangible action? The reality is quite the opposite. At the very least, we can say that there has been neither seriousness nor genuine will to take real action, although there are different reasons behind this. Some are influenced by ties to the enemy and serve its interests rather than those of their own Ummah; some are negligent. There are also those who are fearful and weak, and others are held back by factors and influences arising from these relations within the Ummah itself. Regardless of the cause, there may be many paths, but they all lead to the same destination: an immense disaster for this Ummah. This is the case when those self-proclaimed leaders gather, presenting themselves as representatives of all the Ummah’s strengths, but then take no concrete action in the face of the grave reality the Israeli enemy is determined to impose—a reality it has openly and repeatedly announced, under the clear slogan 'Changing the Middle East'.
There are, in fact, viable options available—options that are straightforward—yet not a single one has been adopted. Take, for example, the following options:
Consider the European summits and the decisions they make regarding Ukraine. Despite the vast difference between the Ukraine issue and the just cause of the Palestinian people, European summits consistently produce tangible results: announcements of hundreds of millions, even billions, in euros or dollars, as well as weapons and economic resources provided to Ukraine. Why did this summit not result in open and explicit support for the Palestinian people at all levels, including the financial, political, and media levels? This is a step entirely within their grasp.
They had many steps available, yet they did not take even one. No one was demanding that they go and fight the Israeli enemy. But why not, at the very least, sever ties with it? Why not put an end to their support and collaboration? The reality is that their relationship with the Israeli enemy is one of collaboration and support—one that benefits the Israeli enemy at every level.
The Israeli enemy’s response to the summit was clear, as we have said. As the summit was taking place, the criminal Netanyahu, together with the criminal American Secretary of State, was performing Talmudic rituals at the Al-Buraq Wall within the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Meanwhile, the American position was made plain by dispatching the Secretary of State to occupied Palestine to back the Israeli enemy and to reaffirm America's open and absolute support—support that manifests itself through concrete action that stands in stark contrast to the empty statements of the Arab summits. The Americans provide the Israeli enemy with money, weapons, political and media backing—every conceivable form of support. In short, they stand firmly and actively with the Israeli enemy. By contrast, the Arabs do not stand for one another—neither for the Palestinian people nor for anyone else, not even for themselves. They are all targeted by this doctrine of unchecked aggression; the project of 'Changing the Middle East' threatens them all, and every aspect of it is perilous for all. This reality of unchecked aggression the Israeli enemy aims to entrench across the region is part of this project.
It is deeply regrettable that these summits amount to nothing more than empty statements, with no real action. The Israeli enemy has mocked these outcomes, openly and brazenly declaring that they mean nothing and insisting on pressing ahead with this agenda even more broadly. It is telling everyone that the violation of sovereignty could extend to all Arab nations and the entire Islamic world, not just Qatar. This should be more than enough to stir this Ummah to action.
The outcomes and speeches of that summit were themselves clear evidence of this Ummah’s turning away from the Holy Quran, as seen among its leaders, governments, regimes, most elites, and most popular movements. These are unmistakable signs of this reality. No one seems to consider returning to the Holy Quran or adopting a Quranic position, even though, at this critical juncture, the Ummah is in desperate need of measuring its position against this great and essential standard. Only this can lift the Ummah from the abyss into which it has fallen: to hold firmly, together, to the rope of Allah; to act collectively according to Allah’s guidance; and to be illuminated by His light and great guidance. Allah has said about the Holy Quran, {'Verily, this Quran guides to that which is most right '}[Al-Isra 17:9]. Know your enemy through the Quran, so that you can gain correct knowledge and therefore take correct positions and actions; likewise, turn to the Holy Quran for practical solutions and the steps and positions you should take, so that you act in the most upright, effective, and positive way: It is {‘with which Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace’}[Al-Ma’idah 5:16].
It was shameful and humiliating that the summit statement described Israeli aggression as an obstacle to establishing normal relations with Israel—such a phrase is utterly debased and deeply shameful. It is as if their only regret is the embarrassment the Israeli enemy’s actions cause them in their relations with it.
In any case, for the entire Islamic world—with all its power, resources, and peoples—to respond with such impotence and inaction in the face of the Israeli enemy’s hatred and ambitions only encourages that enemy, making the summit’s very outcomes a further source of encouragement.
The Americans, too, have made clear that they will continue to stand with the Israeli enemy in this policy of unchecked aggression. Although some American officials have made token conciliatory statements out of courtesy to the Qataris, the real American position is absolutely clear: They stand with the Israeli enemy and continue to support it in every way. The Americans are effectively saying that they will provide support for the Israeli entity and stand with it no matter what it does.
