Yemen’s Foreign Ministry Warns UN Against Recognizing 'Impostor Delegations'
News - Yemen: Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has held the United Nations to be fully responsible for any legal consequences arising from dealings with the “impostors claiming to represent Yemen” at the UN.
In official memoranda sent Tuesday to the UN Secretary-General’s office and all permanent missions in New York, the ministry reaffirmed that Yemen’s seat at the United Nations remains vacant. It stressed that the Supreme Political Council and the government in Sana’a are the sole legitimate representatives of the Yemeni people and their interests.
The memoranda warned that any party claiming to represent Yemen outside this framework is an impostor, cautioning against granting political or legal cover to authorities loyal to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
This position came after adelegation of Saudi-mercenaries, headed by Rashad al-Alimi, participated in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The Yemeni Foreign Ministry denounced the move as an act of impersonation of the Yemen and declared null and void any decisions or positions issued in its name.
