Leader Dismisses Western Recognition of Palestine as 'Insufficient,' Calls it a Diversion from Tangible Action

News - Yemen In his weekly speech on Thursday, The leader of the revolution minimized the importance of the recognitions, stating that the principle of Palestinian statehood was already established by the UN, including the 1947 partition plan.

Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi argued that while the move might "confuse the Israeli enemy and show it in a state of political isolation to some extent," its value is nullified by the continued military, intelligence, and political support provided to the Israeli enemy by some Western and Arab nations.

"The so-called 'two-state solution' aims for a disarmed, formal state whose external relations are controlled according to the ceiling and interests of the Israeli enemy," he stated, asserting that this contradicts, at a minimum, relevant UN resolutions.

He characterized the recognitions alone as offering "no hope for the Palestinian people" and potentially being an "escape from taking any practical steps that constitute real pressure on the Israeli enemy." He accused some nations of using the move as a cover for their ongoing cooperation with Israel, stating, "Some go to the UN podium to present headlines, and then return to send shipments of weapons to the enemy."

Shifting his criticism to the international body itself, the leader delivered a scathing critique of the United Nations on its 80th anniversary, questioning its efficacy. "There is a complete history of the Palestinian cause. What has the UN done over all these past decades? Has it done anything for Palestine?" he asked, answering, "For eighty years, the UN has done nothing for Palestine, despite it being a completely clear cause recognized globally."

He cited a past speech by US President Donald Trump at the UN, which he said revealed the "logic upon which American policies are built," boasting of American power and a "golden age."

Sayyed Abdulmalik concluded that the US-Israeli agenda seeks to impose a "equation of total violation" in the region, moving beyond Palestine once they overcome Palestinian resilience, which he called a cause deserving the support of the entire nation and all of humanity.

The recent move by several Western nations to recognize Palestinian statehood during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly has been met with mixed reactions. While welcomed by Palestinian authorities, Sayyed Abdulmalik has downplayed its significance, arguing it is a deceptive maneuver that fails to address the core of the conflict or pressure the Israeli enemy to stop its aggressive acts on Palestinians.
