News - Yemen: Yemeni political blocs strongly condemned the latest Zionist assault on the Sumud Flotilla bound for Gaza, denouncing it as an act of terrorism carried out with US support and aimed at deepening the suffering of the Palestinian people under siege.

The Southern Hirak Movement, a participant in the National Dialogue Conference and signatory of the Peace and Partnership Agreement, denounced Israeli enemy’s interception of the flotilla, describing it as part of a chain of war crimes and atrocities. 

The bloc also condemned the European “Troika” for reimposing sanctions on Iran, calling it a direct service to US-Israeli agendas.

The Hirak reiterated its outright rejection of Trump’s so-called Gaza ceasefire initiative, describing it as a “colonial plan” designed to legitimize genocide and war crimes against Palestinians. It accused Washington, the Israeli enemy, and Britain of openly working to liquidate the Palestinian cause with the collaboration of regional clients and normalization regimes.

In the same context, the bloc lashed out at statements by Aidarous al-Zubaidi, branding him “a mercenary based in the UAE” whose positions, it stressed, do not reflect the will of the southern and eastern provinces, where people firmly stand with Palestine and reject normalization.

The Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) — Yemen’s largest political coalition — also issued a statement condemning repeated Zionist attacks on the flotilla, including the abduction of activists and confiscation of humanitarian aid. The parties said the fleet, which embodies the conscience of humanity and practical solidarity with Gaza, would remain a symbol of resistance despite Israeli attempts to criminalize it.

Both blocs rejected Trump’s “peace plan,” describing it as a failed attempt to legitimize injustice and strip Palestinians of their national rights. The JMP stressed that the US proposal had even been submitted to Netanyahu for modifications to better align with Israel’s agenda.

The statements emphasized Yemen’s commitment to the path of resistance, praising the military operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in support of Gaza and applauding the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. They also welcomed Colombia’s official stance of solidarity with Palestine, while urging global free nations to continue mass protests and pressure against US-Israeli schemes.

Finally, the Hirak called on Yemenis nationwide to respond to Sayyed Abdulmalik’s call by joining the weekly marches and the planned million-man rally in Sana’a’s Al-Sabeen Square and across governorates under the slogan: “Rejecting the US-Israeli Conspiracy — Steadfast with Gaza Until Victory.”

The Israeli navy intercepted 13 boats from the 50-vessel Global Sumud Flotilla as they approached Gaza’s coast, arresting activists and jamming communications to block live-stream coverage of the incident. 

According to flotilla spokesperson Saif Abukeshek, Israeli forces detained more than 200 participants, including delegations from Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Malaysia. Despite the arrests, around 30 vessels remain at sea, determined to break the blockade that human rights groups have long described as one of the harshest in the world.
