News - Middle East: Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary Bloc, Ihab Hamade, has stated that Lebanon will refuse to be part of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s map.

He made remarks on Friday during a memorial service for Martyr Issam Mohammad Obeid at Al-Mujtaba Complex in Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh.

Hamade dismissed the idea of the so-called “Greater Israel,” saying, “The Zionist-US scheme, which wants the region to be part of Netanyahu’s map, will not be achieved, especially Lebanon and other countries referred to previously as the ring of states.”

He also warned “some in Lebanon against playing with fire and pursuing the path of conspiracy,” as he affirmed that “with our wisdom and awareness we will thwart any attempt to sow division and discord.”

“Some people’s bets on illusions similar to previous bets will also fail,” Hamade stressed.

The Lebanese lawmaker addressed the enemies, saying: “You won’t be able to achieve any of your goals to place our country in the Zionist-US project. We will keep our Lebanon within its context of resistance and confrontation.”

Netanyahu told Israeli media in August that he feels a deep connection to “this vision” of a “Greater Israel,” referring to the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories as well as parts of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, and described it as “a historical and spiritual mission.”

Hezbollah ‘guarantor’ of Lebanon’s national security

Hassan Fadlallah, another member of the Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary Bloc, has also said Lebanon must remain prepared and vigilant in the face of the real threats posed by the Zionist enemy.

According to a report by Al-Manar TV, Fadlallah warned that the instruments of the American-Israeli project in Lebanon are being activated in a “tailored” and “purposeful” manner, in line with specific political and security needs.

Fadlallah said in the face of ongoing threats by the Israeli regime, Hezbollah is the “guarantor of Lebanon’s national security and defense,” calling for the strengthening of the country’s military capabilities.

“The army is the guarantor of domestic peace and a barrier against sedition, and the relationship between Hezbollah and the army is excellent,” he said.

“Lebanon must be present, ready, and equipped, because a real danger is threatening the country’s south,” he noted, urging the Lebanese government to fulfill its duties.

The Lebanese lawmaker expressed concern over the government’s silence regarding the recent Israeli aggressions and urged that, if the government is unwilling to take a stand, it should withdraw from participation in the ceasefire monitoring committee.

He also lashed out at those who advocate calls for the disarmament of Hezbollah, pushed by the US and the Israeli regime.

“At a time when Israel lies in ambush, speaking of disarming the Resistance is a source of shame.”

After nearly 14 months of war marked by heavy losses and the failure to achieve its objectives in the aggression against Lebanon, Israel was forced to agree to a ceasefire with Hezbollah, which came into effect on November 27, 2024.

Since then, Israeli forces have been carrying out attacks on Lebanon, which involved airstrikes, breaching the ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the committee tasked with monitoring the ceasefire has failed to take any effective action to halt these attacks.

The United Nations reported last week that 103 civilians have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon since the ceasefire agreement.
