News - Yemen: Palestinian writer and researcher Saleh Abu Azzah sharply criticized Arab regimes pursuing normalization with the Zionist entity, describing their policies as having reached the level of “providing cover for crimes and direct partnership in aggression” against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In an interview with Almasirah TV on Friday, the Palestinian researcher stressed that the equation outlined by the Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi represents a deeply rooted conviction shared by the Palestinian and Yemeni peoples, as well as by the entire Axis of Resistance.

He strongly condemned the alignment of certain Arab and Islamic powers with the United States, questioning the authenticity of their alleged hostility toward the Zionist regime. Abu Azzah pointed to frequent scenes of “warm receptions, embraces, and exchanges of smiles” between Qatari envoys and Zionist officials, saying such behavior raises doubts about whether any genuine enmity still exists.

Abu Azzah described these regimes as “subservient and dependent on foreign powers,” asserting that they “have never stepped out from under the American umbrella” and lack any genuine intention to adopt a path of resistance or independence.

He highlighted the stark contrast between the repeated calls by resistance leaders — including Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, Imam Khamenei, and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah — urging Arab rulers to reconsider normalization and secret ties with the Zionist entity, and the actual actions taken by those governments.

He noted that while Gaza endured two years of relentless bombardment, destruction, and genocide, Arab and Islamic regimes continued business as usual with the occupation.

“While Yemen imposed a naval blockade that economically strangled the Israeli enemy in the Red Sea,” he said, “the normalizing states were busy seeking new trade routes to ease that very blockade — as if no Palestinian blood was being shed in Gaza.”

Abu Azzah’s remarks come amid ongoing global reactions to the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement, signed two years after the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. The historic October 7, 2023, resistance offensive shattered Israel’s security doctrine and triggered a genocidal response that has since killed more than 67,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Throughout the war, Yemen has maintained a central role in supporting Gaza — militarily, politically, and morally — positioning itself as one of the few states actively confronting both Israeli aggression and US hegemony in the region.
