Present Al-Mashat Urges Saudi Regime to Fulfill Peace Commitments, Vows to Expel Occupiers

News - Yemen: On the 62nd anniversary of the 14 October revolution, Yemen’s President  Mahdi al-Mashat called on the Saudi regime to move from de-escalation to a full end to aggression, blockade and occupation, stressing that Yemen will continue defending its territory and work to expel all occupiers.

Al-Mashat praised the steadfastness of the Yemeni people and Armed Forces, warned against attempts to distort the memory of the 14 October revolution, and urged a national effort to preserve its legacy.

He accused some parties of colluding with foreign powers to undermine Yemen’s independence and insisted the country must remain vigilant and united.

Addressing the Gaza crisis, President Al-Mashat said Yemen remains committed to supporting the Palestinian cause, will monitor the implementation of ceasefire and aid arrangements closely, and called for stepped-up military preparedness to deter the Zionist entity.

He also condemned attempts in Aden to receive officers from the enemy’s army and Mossad, calling such moves a betrayal of the city’s anti-occupation history.

Al-Mashat appealed for an active Arab and Islamic response to Israeli aggression, praised regional groups and states that have supported Palestine, and reiterated that Yemen will press for the “clear peace entitlements” he says are necessary to end the cycle of war and prevent others from exploiting regional divisions.

The 14 October revolution erupted in 1963 from the Radfan mountains in southern Yemen, launching a four-year armed struggle that ended more than a century of British colonial rule and culminated in independence on 30 November 1967. The anniversary remains a symbol of Yemen’s historical fight against foreign domination.

Today, amid continued Saudi-UAE military presence and the broader regional confrontation with the Israeli enemy over Gaza, Yemeni leaders draw parallels between the anti-colonial struggle of the 1960s and the nation’s current battle to defend sovereignty, resist occupation, and uphold the Palestinian cause as a central moral and political commitment.
