Senior Yemeni Military Leaders Reaffirm Support for Palestinian Cause

News - Yemen: On the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi and Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari sent cables of congratulations to political and military leaders, conveying messages of continued national resolve and military readiness.

In their cable to the leader of the revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, the military leaders stated that amidst the "delicate circumstances and successive challenges we are living through, we evoke the spirit of the glorious October Revolution and its liberating approach from the forces of colonialism and domination."

They affirmed that "what we witness today is a continuation of the conspiracy, as those colonial forces are still weaving their plots against our nation," describing efforts to "obliterate the Palestinian cause" as part of this "criminal scheme."

Addressing regional events, they added: "In light of these grave events facing our nation, we affirm to you that Yemen under your wise leadership keeps its promises, and we will not abandon our brothers in Palestine. We will remain their support in their just struggle until the last breath."

The officials warned that "enemies must realize that a people who struggled for decades to expel the British occupier is capable of continuing the path and uprooting the roots of modern conspiracies." They cautioned "colonial forces and their followers against any schemes they plot or any attempt to circumvent opportunities for just and comprehensive peace, because our response will be painful and crushing."

In their message to President Mahdi Al-Mashat, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, they indicated that while celebrating this glorious day, "we draw from it lessons to face the immense challenges confronting our country and nation in the current stage," noting that the "dangers surrounding our homeland are no longer limited to traditional threats but extend to a war of wills targeting our resources, unity, and identity."

They declared: "We state it plainly: we will continue the path of struggle and resistance without weariness or boredom, we will make the battlefronts fields of pride and honor, and we will respond to every aggression with firmness and determination. We will not hesitate to use all available military capabilities to confront any aggression and will spare no effort in defending the sovereignty of the homeland and the sanctities of the nation."

In their congratulations to the Armed Forces, they noted that the celebration comes "while you carry the same torch to force the enemies of the nation to taste the bitterness of defeat. Just as the ancestors triumphed over the British colonizer, you today—God willing—triumph over the contemporary forces of arrogance, represented by America, the Zionist entity, and their allies."

They emphasized that "what is happening in this historical stage on the ground in terms of regional and international developments confirms that our battle is not merely local but is part of the nation's fateful battle to liberate Palestine and Jerusalem and confront the Zionist project supported by global forces of evil."

The military leaders concluded by affirming that "our armed forces have become a significant factor in the regional balance of power, have demonstrated a formidable deterrent capability, and have sent a clear message to the enemies that we will not forgive, will not forget, and will not retreat."

Senior Yemeni military officials have used the occasion of a national anniversary to reaffirm their commitment to the Palestinian cause and issue strong warnings against perceived foreign interference, highlighting the ongoing regional tensions.

The 14 October revolution erupted in 1963 from the Radfan mountains in southern Yemen, launching a four-year armed struggle that ended more than a century of British colonial rule and culminated in independence on 30 November 1967. The anniversary remains a symbol of Yemen’s historical fight against foreign domination.

Today, amid continued Saudi-UAE military presence and the broader regional confrontation with the Israeli enemy over Gaza, Yemeni leaders draw parallels between the anti-colonial struggle of the 1960s and the nation’s current battle to defend sovereignty, resist occupation, and uphold the Palestinian cause as a central moral and political commitment.
