News - Yemen: Member of the Political Bureau of Ansarullah, Mohammed al-Farah, accused Saudi Arabia of evading the peace obligations agreed upon with Yemen, using Yemen’s support for Gaza as a pretext to delay the peace process.

In a post on his X account, al-Farah said that Riyadh attempted to pressure and blackmail Yemen, seeking to exchange peace for halting Yemen’s backing of Gaza — a demand he described as “an American request.”

He questioned what excuse Saudi Arabia would use to obstruct the peace process if the aggression on Gaza were to stop, implying that Riyadh’s reluctance to meet its commitments is the true reason behind the continued stalemate.

The remarks come amid a renewed deadlock in peace efforts between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, following Riyadh’s failure to fulfill its obligations under previous understandings. 

These commitments include payment of salaries to public employees, full lifting of the blockade, and steps toward a comprehensive political settlement.

Despite ongoing mediation efforts led by Oman, progress has stalled as Saudi Arabia seeks to link the Yemeni peace file to regional dynamics, particularly the war in Gaza, where Yemen has played a prominent role in supporting the Palestinian resistance through missile and drone operations against the Israeli enemy and its allies.
