I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast.
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I believe that there is no god but Allah, the Sovereign and the Manifest Truth, and that Muhammad, our master, is His servant, Messenger, and Last Prophet.
O Allah! Confer Your salat and blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad as You conferred Your salat and blessings upon Ibrahim and the Family of Ibrahim. You are Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory! And be pleased with Muhammad's good companions and all Your righteous servants and mujahidin.
Brothers and sisters, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Allah (Glory be to Him) says in the Holy Quran, {'Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge [with their lives], others are waiting [their turn]. They have never changed [their commitment] in the least'}[Al-Ahzab 33:23]. This is the word of truth from Almighty Allah.
Yesterday, our dear people bade farewell to their martyr, the great jihadist commander and Chief of the General Staff, Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghumari. Funeral prayers and a burial procession were held for him, for his martyr son Hussein, and for his two comrades, attended by a very large and significant public turnout. The ceremony expressed the continued commitment of our dear people to their noble stance and their jihad in the path of Allah—firm in their commitment to jihad in support of the oppressed and for the sake of Allah's pleasure.
This reflects the profound and special relationship between our people and their military institution—its leaders, cadres, and personnel. Indeed, the institution enjoys such a strong relationship with the people because they see it as their own. It is their strike arm against the enemies. It embodies their orientation and position, acting in line with their aspirations. This stands in clear contrast to many Arab armies, often perceived by their own peoples as institutions created to work against them, to stand as their adversaries and to subdue them to tyrants and oppressors.
Our dear people regard their military institution—the armed forces (the army and security services)—as a power that belongs to them, one that arises from them and serves them, embodying their aspirations and stance. They regard it as moving in unison with them within a single position that pleases Allah (Glory be to Him), a stance rooted in principles that reflect this people's identity—their identity of faith and their Quranic, faith-guided orientation—perfectly in accord with the words of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&F): 'The belief is that of the Yemenites, and sagacity is that of the Yemenites.' This great and widespread presence by the people carries important implications, foremost among them these very meanings.
The martyr and all martyrs of the Battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad, as well as those who martyred before that while confronting American-Saudi aggression, represent a central symbol of our dear people's sincere and noble position. Our dear people carried the banner of jihad in the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him) in confronting the tyrants of our age (America and Israel), in support of the Palestinian people, and in upholding the major causes of the Ummah, which are part of its overarching responsibilities.
That is why we focus on our people's position in this important two-year round of confrontation involving this Ummah, represented by its free people, its mujahidin, and those who embody its authentic position: authentic in its Islamic, humanitarian, and Quranic essence, authentic as it expresses the Ummah's true nature and the causes that are genuinely its own, and authentic in assuming true responsibility in all its dimensions, aspects, and contexts.
This Ummah is in a confrontation with a relentless foe—criminal, malicious, arrogant, and unjust. This enemy is the Zionist enemy with its various arms that move to target the Ummah, foremost among them Israel and the Zionist Jews, along with America, which is a partner in all their crime, tyranny, and conspiracies, sharing their goals and schemes. America also serves as their principal sponsor, as do those who support them and stand with them, whether in the West or elsewhere—even among some Arab and Islamic regimes.
This intense conflict over the past two years highlighted the position of the free people, who responded to Allah and acted from humanitarian, moral, and faith-driven motives to take the correct religious position in support of the Palestinian people and their dear mujahidin. The Yemeni position was the most prominent among these for its many distinctive qualities, many of which we have discussed before, and we will again touch upon some key points in that regard.
This position was adopted by our country at the level of the government and the people, in complete sincerity and with the utmost effort at every level. Our dear people were sincere before Allah (Glory be to Him) and faithful in supporting the Palestinian people and standing by them with all they could, without faltering, shirking, or wilful dereliction. From the very beginning of this stance, our people have given many martyrs for this cause and continued to do so throughout these two years. Martyrs from the armed forces and martyrs from among our dear people fell in fierce and genuine confrontation with the enemies. These sacrifices stand as clear and unmistakable proof of the sincerity of our people's position at every level, including their military action and support for the Palestinian people and their mujahidin.
Our dear people moved in the right direction when they took this great and honourable position—a position of pride, dignity, honour, and nobility and fulfilment of a sacred duty. They did not rise for something unworthy of their sacrifices or contributions. This is not a trivial, frivolous, or reckless position. Our people have not acted rashly; rather, they have proceeded with the highest levels of wisdom, prudence, and responsibility.
The highest levels of wisdom are attained when we act within the framework of Allah’s instructions, guidance, and supremely wise directives, which are themselves at the highest ranks of discernment and wisdom. Is there anything higher in wisdom and discernment than Allah's wisdom, guidance, and instructions, compared with human visions, ideas, analyses, or intellectual and cultural achievements? Is there anything greater than the guidance of Allah (Who is the Most Wise, Knower of the unseen and the seen) and what He has outlined for us out of His mercy—for He is the Most Merciful?!
Therefore, when our dear people set out, they did so from a faith-driven standpoint, responding to Allah (Glory be to Him), within the framework of fulfilling sacred responsibilities and religious obligations Allah has prescribed for His servants. This was a noble endeavour, through which they attained honour, glory, dignity, and prestige. This is unlike paths that lead to disgraceful and shameful stances and that bring dishonour and humiliation upon those who follow them. Our dear people are not like those who moved in the opposite direction, aiding the Israeli enemy, both financially and through propaganda, discouraging the Ummah from taking any stance, and distorting every correct position aimed at confronting the enemy and supporting the Palestinian people.
With this great level of devotion, generosity, and sacrifice—offering martyrs in the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him)—and with the tremendous momentum of a vast and spirited public attendance through countless activities, such as protests, demonstrations, and marches, together with financial contributions given even in the harshest of conditions and tireless efforts at every level, this noble stance will remain a shining chapter in the history of our dear people, passed down through generations. This position will continue to serve as a source of lessons for generations to come—a great source of conviction, insight, and determination—inspiring them to confront every challenge at any level, to remain steadfast in all circumstances, and to overcome every hardship without fatigue, discouragement, or weakness. It is a school of values, ethics, lofty aspiration, patience, steadfastness, and all noble virtues.
In this school, those dear martyrs who ascended in the course of fulfilling their jihadist responsibilities and duties are shining stars to whom all generations will look up, because of their devotion in the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him) and the lofty faith-based qualities they embodied—qualities that elevated them in their performance, steadfastness, moral spirit, and great sacrifice in the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him).
Therefore, our dear people set forth on their great, blessed, and lasting stand in this honourable cause despite the most severe conditions and the magnitude of the challenge. Their mobilisation, highly effective and unified between the government and the public, stood out for its unique features, making it exceptional in this historic struggle against the hostile, criminal, and oppressive Zionist enemy.
The Yemeni army, along with the armed forces at both military and security levels, is a jihadist force in the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him). It has set out with its people within the framework of this faith-based identity and with a jihadi spirit for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him), guided by clear insight, and has therefore been an essential part of this position.
Where are the Arab and Islamic armies, whose soldiers number more than twenty-five million, yet show no reaction, leave no impact, and take no stance—except in the exceptional cases of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance and jihad forces that have arisen from among the sons of this Ummah? Where are those armies, with their officers, commanders, and cadres, and with all their experience, strength, skill, knowledge, and high ranks? Where are their actions and roles? What have they offered the Ummah in one of its hardest times and in one of its greatest struggles that demanded their presence, contribution, sacrifice, and stand? They are entirely absent from all these events—completely out of reach, as the saying goes. For their orientations, underlying principles, and foundations are different; they have not risen to the level required to take such a position at the right time and in the right direction.
Nevertheless, this military institution, as we have said, set out with its people, guided by a faith-based and jihadi spirit that elevated it to the level of the action it ought to advance: a jihadist army bearing a spirit of faith and jihad and faith-based values, which are precisely what can elevate any army to meet these challenges and dangers.
As we have said, this orientation and school have moulded men of great calibre. Indeed, faith-based values are lofty: They build a person towards human perfection so that he becomes benevolent and effective in this worldly life, acting with great positivity and effectiveness within a sound framework in the right direction that embodies those noble values. That is why the martyrs' profound impact endures through what they achieved, the effort they expended, and what they offered before martyrdom, as part of striving in the path of Allah and fulfilling their responsibilities. Their influence also persists through the great value they hold with Allah (Glory be to Him) for their sacrifices and martyrdom, and through what Allah (Glory be to Him) grants them as a result of that—reflected in their Ummah and in the service of the cause for which they sacrificed. Similarly, their profound influence extends to what future generations, their comrades, and their Ummah draw inspiration from through their determination, values, and exceptionally lofty morals, leaving a deep and lasting impression on hearts.
From our experience over all these years in the faith-based, Quranic, and jihadist march, we have witnessed the powerful influence of the martyrs—emotionally, in the hearts of the people, their Ummah, and their comrades; psychologically; and in terms of values, reflected in ethics and principles, as well as in spirit, resolve, determination, and a high readiness for sacrifice.
Therefore, we speak here of some of the prominent qualities of our dear martyr, Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghumari (May Allah be pleased with him)—qualities that distinguished this great mujahid, who belongs to this people in its Quranic school and faith-based orientation.
At the forefront of these qualities was the faith-based and jihadi spirit—an attribute absent in many armies across the Islamic world. Yet, as we have said, the army of this people set out in accordance with its identity: a faith-based identity, a faith-rooted mobilisation grounded in Quranic awareness and a close bond with the Book of Allah (Glory be to Him). When the martyr embraced that faith-based, jihadi spirit, it was manifested in his deep devotion to Allah—in his love for Allah and his fear of His punishment in cases of negligence, shortcoming, or laxity in fulfilling responsibility. This spirit also manifested in his great trust in Allah, which is among the foremost signs of faith. Thus, the martyr possessed profound trust in Allah; he fulfilled his jihadist duties in confronting the enemies of Allah and of humanity, indifferent to their capabilities and power.
What has influenced the stance of many Arab and Islamic armies towards the Americans and the Israelis? It is their lack of trust in Allah (Glory be to Him). They only think about the enemy's military assets and other forms of power and see themselves as lacking comparable resources. On the other hand, they fail to take Allah (Glory be to Him) into account, nor do they consider His true promise of victory to those who strive in His cause with whatever means and capabilities they possess. Thus, they move in the direction of defeat, despair, and weakness because of such calculations in which they forget Allah (Glory be to Him)—{'They forgot Allah, so He forgot them'}[At-Tawbah 9:67]; {'Those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget their own selves'}[Al-Hashr 59:19].
In the path of faith, the believer’s first priority when setting out for Allah’s sake is to have Allah on his side and to be with Him. He also looks to the promises of Allah, Who never breaks His promises:
In addition to deep attachment to Allah and willingness to strive in His path, a key testament to the true spirit of faith and jihad is placing one’s trust in Allah, in His promise, and in His guidance, holding fast to the stances He has prescribed. One should believe that these stances are the right course to secure our salvation, honour, and dignity, and ensure our success in both this life and the next: They are the stances that grant us Allah's help and support for victory—for He is the most capable of granting victory.
The martyr (May Allah be pleased with him) approached his jihadist duties with unwavering confidence in Allah (Glory be to Him), showing no hesitation whatsoever. His comrades in responsibility and jihad shared this same noble spirit, relying wholeheartedly on Allah (Glory be to Him) and truly understanding the value of relying on Him, as He has commanded His servants to rely on Him: {'And upon Allah let the believers rely'}[Ali 'Imran 3:122].
Therefore, neither the difficult circumstances, nor the disparity between what the enemy possessed and what we had, nor the extent of suffering, nor the obstacles faced, nor even the modest means at our disposal, were ever enough to weaken this resolve, undermine the firmness of position, or diminish the vigour of action. On the contrary, they advanced with exceptional effectiveness, complete confidence in Allah (Glory be to Him), and full readiness to sacrifice.
Among his most prominent qualities were his sincerity towards Allah and his complete detachment from any personal motives. This is one of the key elements of faith-based upbringing: that a person sets out to fulfil his sacred responsibilities—foremost among them striving in the path of Allah—with absolute sincerity, solely for Allah (Glory be to Him), and in obedience to Him. His aims are tied to attaining Allah’s pleasure and what He has promised, regarding this as the loftiest of all goals and the ultimate purpose, surpassing all worldly aims. This is an aspect of true spiritual maturity and a manifestation of faith and divine guidance: that one’s goals and aims are bound to Allah, with one’s direction oriented towards Him. This is an exceptionally important characteristic.
That is why Allah (Glory be to Him) says, {'As for those who strive for Us, We will surely guide them to Our paths. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers'}[Al-'Ankabut 29:69]. The expression {'who strive for Us'}—and particularly the phrase {'for Us'}—signifies deep sincerity to Allah (Glory be to Him) and total detachment from any personal or worldly aims. It also entails wholehearted devotion to Allah’s cause, moving forward with the highest levels of seriousness, giving, dedication, and courage.
This is an extremely important matter, as it elevates those who strive in the path of Allah in fulfilling their jihadist duties, granting them Allah’s care and guidance (Glory be to Him). This guidance then influences their psyche, planning, practical actions, and indeed many aspects of their journey and performance.
Among the most prominent qualities of our dear martyr (May Allah be pleased with him) was his spirit of initiative in fulfilling his jihadist duties. This quality is one of the greatest and most important values in faith and is also fundamental to practical success, effectiveness, and impact, as it enables one to address many matters proactively, prevent numerous failures, and achieve significant successes. This is an important spirit that the Holy Quran seeks to cultivate within us, as Allah (Glory be to Him) says, {'Hurry towards your Lord's forgiveness and a Jannah as wide as the heavens and earth prepared for the muttaqin'}[Ali 'Imran 3:133]. This command urges us to hasten to good deeds, chief among them striving in the path of Allah (Glory be to Him), which is one of the greatest and most important good deeds and among the foremost obligations ordained by Allah (the Almighty). This is also essential for cultivating the spirit of initiative and promptness in action, liberating oneself from hesitation, lethargy, and procrastination.
Initiative holds immense significance for its practical value and effect in the field of striving in the path of Allah (Glory be to Him). By contrast, hesitation and sluggishness carry real risks: They lead to failures, grant victories to the enemy, and cause many opportunities to be missed. Thus, initiative is both a practical necessity and a value of faith, bringing one closer to Allah (Glory be to Him) and elevating his status before Him. It reflects a strong desire for Allah and His promise and indicates practical awareness of the importance of jihadist work and the dangers of delay or negligence. It is a sign of maturity, insight, awareness, wisdom, and deep, conscious understanding. At the same time, it is one of the values that demonstrates a person’s liberation from psychological barriers and lingering inner obstacles—such as greed, personal complexes, other obstacles, or a failure to appreciate the sacredness of these duties—that cause others to hesitate, become sluggish, or fail to act with zeal and responsibility in fulfilling their duties.
Because of the vital importance of this spirit of initiative, Allah (Glory be to Him) has given it special prominence in the Holy Quran, calling believers to it and urging them towards it in the strongest terms. This underscores just how important it is, as He has made hastening towards righteous deeds—foremost among them striving in the path of Allah, in all its forms—a hastening towards His forgiveness and towards a Jannah as wide as the heavens and the earth. This is among the most crucial values in the school of jihad; it is of utmost importance and must be firmly instilled.
Likewise, in embodying the qualities of the Allah- fearing, he fulfilled his struggle in Allah’s cause not through military routine or the conventional traditions of armies, but in a way far more elevated and distinctive—through piety and mindfulness of Allah (Glory be to Him). This was evident in his diligence, seriousness, perseverance, and care, as well as in the noble attributes with which Allah describes His righteous servants—in their conduct, steadfastness, vigilance against sin, and much more. In every area where piety manifests itself, he showed practical discipline rooted in divine values and instructions, vigilance in avoiding what is forbidden, deep seriousness about fulfilling responsibility, and the highest standards of character. In every area where piety manifests itself, he showed practical discipline rooted in divine values and instructions, vigilance in avoiding what is forbidden, deep seriousness about fulfilling responsibility, and the highest standards of character.
This is of great importance, for some perform their military duties merely as soldiers—content with the customs and traditions associated with the military sphere, with its familiar standards of discipline and commitment recognised worldwide. But there is a far higher standard: piety—that spiritual state within a person, expressed through his values, attentiveness, and distinguished practical performance.
Another outstanding quality in his conduct, his daily life, and his character was patience. What a noble virtue patience is! It is among the greatest and most essential values of faith throughout a believer’s spiritual journey. In the realm of striving in the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him), its importance reaches the utmost degree. This precious quality—patience—is repeatedly emphasised in the Holy Quran, which also contains verses that encourage us to embody it in practice as we carry out our religious duties and obligations.
He was distinguished by remarkable patience and resilience in all circumstances, enduring both emotional and physical hardships with steadfastness. Such endurance is essential for anyone entrusted with great responsibilities. In performing duties of this magnitude, one encounters profound psychological strain, countless obstacles, challenges, and arduous trials. Thus, a person must possess patience both inwardly and spiritually, as well as the strength to bear physical burdens— patience in enduring suffering for the sake of Allah and in confronting difficulties, dangers, obstacles, and adversity. Our dear martyr, as we personally knew him, exhibited extraordinary psychological and physical endurance in carrying out his jihad-related duties. He reached a level far above that of someone simply described as patient. The Holy Quran describes the believing servants of Allah, in their ranks of patience, saying about some of them, {'whoever is steadfast, grateful'}[Ibrahim 14:5]. And this expresses a higher rank than simply being patient in carrying out their jihadist duties.
As we knew him—while ascribing purity to none before Allah—our dear martyr demonstrated a remarkable level of patience. He was profoundly patient and steadfast in the face of hardships, facing hardship upon hardship without wavering, no matter how difficult they may grow: He persevered through all manner of suffering, obstacles, and burdens, showing resilience of mind and body, always practising beautiful patience in his actions, dealings, and spirit. This is one of the key faith-based qualities: the patience of the godly men, about whom Allah says in the Holy Quran, {'And how many a prophet has had numerous godly men combating alongside him, and they did not waver regardless of that which afflicted them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. And Allah loves the patient ones'}[Ali 'Imran 3:146]. Such people confront every challenge and hardship with practical perseverance, steadfast in their work and deeply connected to Allah.
Some people are negatively affected by hardships, obstacles, challenges, and sacrifices; they fall into weakness, begin to lose their determination, and their spirit and morale decline. However, the godly men—those who have elevated their faith to a high level of attachment to Allah (Glory be to Him) and complete devotion to His cause—face such challenges with practical patience, turning to Allah (the Almighty) and asking Him to grant them even greater patience. In the Holy Quran, Allah has taught us to ask Him, to call upon Him, and to seek refuge in Him to grant us more patience: {'Our Lord, pour down patience upon us and strengthen our foothold and grant us victory over the disbelieving people'}[Al-Baqarah 2:250]. Additionally, Allah said in the Holy Quran, {'Be patient, for your patience is only with Allah'}[An-Nahl 16:127]. Indeed, a person is in dire need of Allah’s help in seeking patience.
One of the prominent qualities of our martyr (May Allah be pleased with him) is his dedication to the path of Allah and his willingness to sacrifice himself for the sake of Allah, the Almighty. In fact, this is a defining characteristic of the true believers who set out in the path of Allah: They set out having already sold themselves to Allah, the Almighty. Despite the fact that Allah is the Owner of our souls, He, out of His great favour and abundant generosity toward us, has granted us the opportunity to enter into a deal with Him, permitting us to sell to Him what He already owns: our souls. What is the price we sell it for? It is for the most exalted, greatest, and holiest price: His pleasure and Jannah. In this world, no entity, person, party, power, or state can offer anything that inspires people to sell themselves, compromise their stances, or sacrifice their lives for its sake in a way more exalted, greater, or nobler than what Allah (the Almighty) has offered. He has offered His pleasure as the reward, along with Jannah, which is the highest form of bliss: everlasting, perfect, and free from any disturbance. The Quranic discourse on this reward is truly profound and moving.
Allah (Glory be to Him) says, {'Allah has indeed purchased from the believers their lives and wealth in exchange for Jannah. They fight in the cause of Allah and kill or are killed. This is a true promise binding on Him in the Torah, the Bible, and the Quran. And whose promise is truer than Allah's? So, rejoice in the exchange you have made with Him. That is [truly] the ultimate triumph'}[At-Tawbah 9:111]. He also says,{'And among mankind is he who sells himself, seeking the pleasure of Allah. And Allah is Ever Gracious to [His] servants'}[Al-Baqarah 2:207]. Among the signs of Allah’s boundless generosity and mercy is that He offers this opportunity to His servants. Leaving this world is inevitable; there is no permanence or everlasting life on the earth for the children of Adam—everyone must depart: Allah said to His Messenger, {'And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on the earth]; so if you die, would they be eternal?'}[Al-Anbya 21:34]. He also says, {'Everyone upon it [the earth] will perish'}[Ar-Rahman 55:26]. Yet the noblest way to make use of this inevitable end is through martyrdom in the cause of Allah, entering into the true life of the martyrs—a life of joy, provision, and divine hospitality, exactly as Allah has promised. Allah says, {'Never think of those killed in the cause of Allah as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for}—in a state of joy and glad tidings—{rejoicing in Allah’s bounties and being delighted for those yet to join them: That there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. They are joyful for receiving Allah’s grace and bounty, and that Allah does not deny the reward of the believers'}[Ali 'Imran 3:169-171]. This is a unique distinction and blessing for the martyrs, granted by Allah in the Holy Quran.
A spirit of selfless devotion for Allah’s sake matters enormously for effective action— for resolve and boldness in the face of difficult conditions and grave dangers— because it frees a person from the shackles of fear.
What has bound and restricted our Islamic Ummah? Chief among the causes is fear—the very weakness the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&F) defined as 'love of this world and dislike of death'. It is this state of fear and anxiety, as well as the belief that clinging to this life ensures safety and survival. In reality, this has brought about the opposite. The greatest disasters and heaviest losses—millions killed and wounded—have befallen the Islamic Ummah precisely in those periods when it abandoned, wholly or almost wholly, its duty of striving in the path of Allah, the Almighty.
It is in the school of faith, struggle, and the Quran that this readiness is nurtured and this spirit is firmly instilled. A person sets out carrying it within, liberated from the shackles of fear and panic, advancing with devotion, dedicated effort, deep yearning, and a strong attachment to Allah (Glory be to Him).
Among the defining traits of his character (May Allah be pleased with him) were sound judgment, wisdom, emotional balance, awareness, and an appreciation for divine guidance. These qualities embrace both the psychological and intellectual dimensions. They are essential virtues that represent the highest ideals of faith and humanity. The need for such qualities is even greater when it comes to serving in positions of responsibility and striving for Allah’s sake. What is most needed is for a person to possess mature thinking and a vision grounded in sound judgement. This is attained by a close bond with the guidance of Allah (Glory be to Him) through the Holy Quran by understanding its concepts and drawing upon divine wisdom. This shapes a person into someone truly wise, with a correct perspective—not swayed by moods, by unsound conclusions, or by ideas picked up at random from others, as is often the case. Many people’s outlooks and judgements are pieced together haphazardly, lacking real foundation, proper standards, or true criteria; as a result, they lack true maturity or sound thinking. This is why a person should engage deeply with Allah’s guidance, listening with attention, understanding, and a fully unbiased heart. In other words, he should be keen on shaping his thinking and views by the true concepts of the Holy Quran rather than by arbitrary or borrowed opinions.
The qualities of maturity and wisdom are of the utmost importance, and so is emotional balance. That is because a person cannot be truly wise unless intellectual maturity is coupled with emotional balance. Without it, one may even realise that an action is wrong and yet still proceed despite that awareness. Having a calm temperament keeps a person from acting recklessly or overstepping limits in moments of anger, fear, or satisfaction. Such a person remains steady across all emotional states, never impulsive, careless, or frivolous when entrusted with responsibility. Instead, he maintains his composure, acting with integrity, guided by wisdom, truth, and divine instruction, regardless of the circumstances. These were among the qualities we clearly witnessed in our dear martyr.
Among the most prominent aspects of his character were his good manners, forbearance, and respect for others. These qualities are also attributes of faith, holding profound spiritual significance in a person’s relationship with Allah (Glory be to Him) while at the same time bringing practical benefit to life and to all positions of responsibility.
The most exhausting people in positions of responsibility are those who lack such traits—those who are ill-mannered, quarrelsome, hot-headed, quick-tempered, or narrow-minded. Indeed, they are the most challenging to work with in positions of authority. They are hard to engage with on any issue and cannot tolerate even the simplest discussion. They live in a state of tension, agitation, anger and recklessness, liable to explode at any moment. This condition undermines performance in a position of responsibility. The greater the responsibility, the more damaging the absence of these qualities. For this reason, the higher a person’s responsibility, the more essential it is that he possess good character and noble morals in general—truthfulness, loyalty, and all such values—alongside the ability to interact well with others and show them respect. Indeed, respect for others is one of the highest virtues of good character.
Our dear martyr was known for these traits in all his dealings with his comrades in responsibility and jihad and with the wider community. Anyone who knew him personally or came into contact with him would recognise how he excelled in these vital qualities.
Among his most important qualities was his capacity for innovation and adaptability. This trait is central in the school of jihad, faith, and piety, and its importance cannot be overstated. Those who set out for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him) often face harsh conditions, great hardship, and many challenges, yet, with a spirit rooted in faith and jihad, they remain determined to fulfil their duties and responsibilities, regardless of how severe the circumstances or how limited their means. They adapt to their situation and innovate solutions suited to their circumstances, transforming challenges into opportunities. Others, by contrast, may succumb to despair, lose hope, grow weak, or withdraw because they lack solutions. But with creative thinking and guidance from Allah (Glory be to Him) comes inspiration and new methods that allow people to gradually build their abilities, to which Allah grants high effectiveness.
This, too, was a distinguishing quality he shared with his comrades—those who played a vital role in achieving transformative leaps in capacities and capabilities. Despite the hardest conditions, they neither surrendered nor weakened, neither despaired nor lost heart. Instead, they placed their trust in Allah (the Almighty) and worked hard, and highly significant results followed: Watershed advances and great breakthroughs were attained by Allah's grace. He rewards and aids His servants, granting them care and guidance: {'As for those who strive for Us, We will surely guide them to Our paths. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers'}[Al-'Ankabut 29:69]—He guides them in every field, as the phrase {'Our paths'} conveys. Therefore, this spirit—the mindset of innovation, adaptation to circumstances, and the turning of challenges into opportunities—was crucial in bringing about this transformation.
Thus, as we have said, these qualities and many other lofty attributes of faith form a Quranic school founded upon a spirit of faith. It produces such exemplars—martyrs who had the same drive of faith. Though this drive may vary from one person to another, this school continues to bring forth its models who set forth to fulfil this sacred responsibility.
For this reason, our dear martyr (May Allah be pleased with him) stands as one of the finest examples produced by this school. He is one of the men of this country whom history will remember. He is one of the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him), striving to fulfil their sacred and noble duties and contributing to major transformations and profound causes. History will immortalise them as sources of inspiration for generations to come, making them living examples from which people continue to draw spiritual and moral lessons.
He left a lasting mark through what he achieved by his dedicated effort, tireless striving, and careful attention. Alongside his fellow martyrs, he shared in the blessing that flows from sacrifice and in what Allah ordains by virtue of this giving—the giving of martyrdom. For Allah rewards such sacrifice with a tremendous recompense for the believing community that endured and showed patience and for the martyrs themselves, who served the cause of Allah (Glory be to Him) in obedience to His command.
These sacrifices have only strengthened the steadfastness and resolve of the Yemeni people and their jihadist forces—the Yemeni Armed Forces. They have never weakened the spirit or determination of this nation—neither in its military, nor in its mobilisation, nor among the masses. This is a reality the enemy must fully comprehend.
Over the years, we have given many martyrs in Allah’s cause—leaders, combatants, cadres, and others from the sons of our dear people. Yet, at every stage—whether throughout or before the past decade of confrontation or even during this current round—the trajectory has always been upward in jihad performance in the path of Allah, building and growing capacity, accumulating experience, and learning from every trial.
If martyrdom for the sake of Allah (Glory be to Him) brought only enfeeblement, weakness and a broken will, this striving Ummah would have ceased to exist from the start—from the first round that saw the martyrdom of the founder and leader of our movement, the Martyr of the Quran, the mujahid Al-Sayyid Hussein Badruddin Al-Houthi (May Allah be pleased with him), together with his great companions on this sacred path. Yet the movement endured, grew stronger, and guided this great people in their faith identity. Its blessings, voice, and influence have reached the world, taking on a global dimension true to its Quranic, universal vision.
At every stage, with every sacrifice, the followers of this movement and the people of this noble nation, bound by their sacred faith, have only grown in steadfastness and excellence.
One of Allah’s greatest blessings upon us and our people is this path of faith—a path that embodies our faith identity and liberates us from submission to tyranny. It is a path of salvation, both in this world and in the Hereafter.
The enemies of the Ummah are intent on enslaving it through their Zionist scheme. Over the past two years, their evil, criminality, and tyranny have become clearer than ever, reaching unprecedented heights. The world—across every country and every continent—has witnessed daily scenes that laid bare the shocking wickedness of the Zionist enemy—the Americans, the Israelis, the Britons, and those aligned with them. Their criminality, brutality, hatred, and complete disregard for human and moral values have been exposed for all to see—as seen in their horrific crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people and their aggression against the peoples of our Ummah.
This matter is of grave importance. It should grant us absolute certainty in the justice of our position against this enemy, its crimes, and its destructive, ruinous plans, which are referred to as 'Greater Israel' and 'Changing the Middle East'. All of this only deepens our conviction and faith in the guidance Allah has granted us in His holy book. We have seen its manifestations in reality at the highest levels—in daily scenes. Allah has already told us of their evil, their crimes, their aggression—and we see it: Even after the agreement in Lebanon, they persist in violations, treachery, and daily acts of violence. They also persist in their violations in Syria and Gaza. Only two days ago, by its own admission, the Israeli enemy bombed Gaza with more than 150 tonnes of explosives, which is a serious violation. It is killing Palestinians every day. They honour no covenant, no treaty, no bond of trust. They possess none of the values: no honesty, no loyalty, no humanity, no dignity. They are hateful, criminal enemies marked by wickedness and baseness.
That is why, by every standard, we are on the right path, guided by Allah, by His wisdom, His commandments, and the sacred responsibility of faith. This embodies wisdom at its highest. We act according to Allah’s guidance and His wise, noble, and illuminating teachings, placing our trust in Allah and in His mercy and His wisdom. He guides us more surely than any thinker, politician, or pseudo-intellectuals—the weak, helpless, or despairing ones, whose conclusions are ultimately barren and misguided. Allah is more merciful to us and leads us to what is truly good.
He has guided us to what brings good in this world and the next. He has given mighty promises; we trust Him and His promise, and we trust the certainties that govern the outcome of this conflict.
This is a conflict imposed upon the Ummah; ignoring it brings no safety to anyone. Those who claim that the solution is to ignore what the Israelis, Americans, and Britons are doing, what global Zionism is planning, and to act as if there were no American-Israeli threat—as if the Jews and Zionists were not seeking to subjugate and enslave this Ummah and occupy its lands—should know that ignoring such real danger is neither a solution nor a source of safety. It is not what the Holy Quran guides to. It is simply a personal deduction, born of despair, weakness, inability, and a lack of vision for the magnitude of the danger.
As for those who choose to accommodate the enemy—adopting a policy of appeasement and allegiance, hoping to escape their harm—they are equally misguided, in a state of true apostasy from the principles and values of this great faith. They become wrongdoers, complicit in the enemies’ crimes and injustices, when they work to subdue and subjugate this Ummah to them and turn against those who oppose Israel: unleashing their media and propaganda mouthpieces against them; targeting them economically, militarily and in security terms; and collaborating with the enemy in every way—financially, in the media, politically, and through intelligence and information support. This is apostasy, as the Holy Quran affirms: a turning back from this religion in its principles, its values, and its ethics.
Allah has forbidden allegiance to them, saying, {'Whoever takes them as guardians becomes one of them'}[Al-Ma'idah 5:51]. This is the most forceful expression of the gravity of this crime—to the point that a person is stripped of their identity, principles, and values, and is counted by Allah among them, sharing in their evil, their crimes, and their corruption.
Thus, the course pursued by some Arab regimes, and by certain groups and parties within our Ummah, is a deviation rooted in ignorance and folly. It is fruitless, bringing no salvation for them or the Ummah. Allah knows best and is most wise. The failure of what they call 'settlement'—whatever name it takes—has been demonstrated over many years. Under the banners of peace and settlement, the Arabs have achieved nothing, and this is not new.
By contrast, we have attained major gains because of the path we have taken. These gains are attested to by our victories and our effective performance in decisive rounds, including the naval engagements with the Americans. In those engagements, the Americans suffered a resounding failure that even their own leaders, think tanks, and officials have acknowledged. The facts bear it out. Five aircraft carriers withdrew in failure. In both rounds of intense confrontation between us and the Americans, the Americans failed, along with the Israelis and the Britons. None managed to destroy this country’s capabilities or to force it to change its just position. Instead, it held its ground—with a steadfastness that does one credit before Allah (Glory be to Him).
At this stage, as a Yemeni people, we are stronger than ever—in our capabilities, our awareness, our military power, and mobilisation—at an advanced level across every field. It is imperative that we continue in this Quranic direction of faith and jihad, building our reality ever more firmly upon the principle: {'Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power'}[Al-Anfal 8:60]. We shall keep pace with developments in Palestine and the wider region so that we remain in a state of complete readiness to resume operations and escalate to the highest levels if the Israeli enemy returns to its policies of genocide, siege, or starvation against the Palestinian people.
We cannot remain silent at any stage. Nor will we enter into deals over principled commitments—rooted in faith, jihad, and the Quran—that are essential for remaining a free, dignified and honourable people: a people who act in accordance with Allah’s instructions (Glory be to Him) and who neither cower nor bow to tyrants, criminals, or oppressors. We do not adopt the despairing, weak, or defeatist outlook of those who are out of touch with reality, removed from the path of our people and far from Allah’s guidance and teachings. They have failed to place their trust in Allah, His book, or His instructions, and they lack insight into the clear and evident events unfolding before their very eyes. All they offer is the notion of taming this Ummah for its enemies, abandoning sacred responsibilities, giving up on human values, freedom, and dignity, and accepting humiliation and submission to the worst of criminals: the malicious, arrogant oppressors.
The general direction must remain grounded in faith, the Quran, jihad, liberation, and constructive endeavour across every field. However, key domestic issues should not fall outside our primary concern; on the contrary, they are best addressed within that framework:
None of these issues requires us to set aside our major priorities. Within their scope, we can advance all other priorities more effectively and more constructively, to greater benefit—working with a practical mindset and with practical, positive solutions. Meanwhile, the enemies intensify their efforts to distract people from the main path—from confronting the American-Israeli threat, the Zionist threat. Within that very American-Israeli design, they try to drown people in crises and problems, to turn their attention aside altogether, until they completely reject to follow the right path or embrace the right priorities—the path that ensures their well-being with Allah (Glory be to Him) in this world and the Hereafter.
The Israeli enemy is a loser. Over the past two years of confrontation, it has suffered grievous, unprecedented losses—a scandal among nations and a global disgrace. Its weakness has been exposed on the battlefield. Despite two full years of genocide and comprehensive destruction carried out in partnership with America, it could not recover its captives without a prisoner-exchange deal. These are clear, evident signs, yet the blind of heart refuse to see them. Instead, they look upon it with exaggerated reverence and hype, and they seek to subdue the Ummah to accept it.
The Israeli enemy’s weakness has become unmistakably clear. Despite all it has done against the fellow mujahidin in the Gaza Strip—who are under a crushing siege, with extremely limited resources, and grievously abandoned by their own Ummah—the mujahidin, by Allah’s grace, stood their ground with remarkable resilience, preventing it from retrieving its captives except through a prisoner exchange. This plainly demonstrates its failure and defeat.
In its confrontation with Iran, the Israeli enemy failed: After just twelve days, it was forced to seek American intervention to end the direct hostilities. For all the malice behind its aims and its desire to carry on, it could not continue and was compelled to stop. Even so, those with blind hearts hail that as a success, call it an achievement, and claim the time has come for the whole Ummah to kneel with them—submit to it, worship it besides Allah, and surrender to it. This is among the worst forms of blindness of heart.
It also failed to eliminate the resistance in Lebanon; the resistance stood firm and remained steadfast despite its sacrifices. It saddens us to see the Israeli enemy’s horrific criminality being mistaken for a great achievement by those whose hearts and insight Allah (Glory be to Him) has blinded. It is true that it perpetrated terrible massacres, but those are neither military achievements nor strategic gains.
The Israeli enemy is a failure and a loser:
As we have stated, we believe in the inevitable outcomes of this great conflict, which is pressing itself upon our Ummah. These outcomes are determined by Allah, not by political analysts, who often err and seldom hit the mark. These are certainties decreed by Allah (Glory be to Him): The Israeli enemy is headed for failure, for loss, for demise. Allah (Glory be to Him) has promised victory to those who respond to Him: {'If you support Allah, He will grant you victory and strengthen your foothold'}[Muhammad 47:7]; {'Then, it is the party of Allah that is the predominant'}[Al-Ma'idah 5:56]; {'For it is Our duty to grant victory to the believers'}[Ar-Rum 30:47]; and, regarding the Israeli enemy, {'But if you return, We will return'}[Al-Isra 17:8]. Allah (Glory be to Him) is always there and will never neglect His servants:
We ask Allah (Glory be to Him) to have mercy on our martyrs and to reward them on our behalf with the best of rewards.
We will continue on this path, on this noble course. Our people—Allah willing—will maintain their course with greater awareness, attentiveness, and vigilance in the face of every plot and scheme. General mobilisation will, Allah willing, step up its work on the ground; the same applies to building military capabilities and enhancing readiness at every level.
We ask Allah (Glory be to Him) to grant us success in seeking what pleases Him. O Allah! Have mercy on our virtuous martyrs, heal the wounded among us, set free our captives, and grant us victory. You are the All-Hearer of prayer. We also ask Him to hasten relief and victory for the oppressed Palestinian people and for their dear mujahidin.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
