Chaos in Yemen's Occupied South: Wave of Killings, Abductions, and Power Struggles Among Rival Factions

News - Yemen: The southern provinces under foreign occupation continue to reel under years of oppression and lawlessness, as occupying forces and their local proxies have turned these areas into centers of looting, crime, and violent power struggles.

According to a televised report by Al Masirah Channel, the occupied southern regions are witnessing a complete collapse in public services amid a growing state of chaos, reflected in armed raids on police stations and courts, as well as heavy clashes in public streets between rival mercenary factions.

In recent days, 27 incidents of killings and abductions have been recorded across Aden and neighboring provinces — including seven assassinations and killings, eleven kidnappings, and nine armed confrontations.

These crimes are concentrated in Aden, Abyan, Shabwah, Taiz, Hadramout, Lahj, and Dhale, offering a grim snapshot of the deliberate and systematic deterioration of security across the occupied south.

In Aden alone, abductions have sharply increased, targeting children, young men, businessmen, and activists. Even workers in public service sectors have not been spared.

Frequent armed clashes between militias loyal to the occupying powers are often driven by disputes over market revenues and land seizures, particularly in Shabwah and Dhale provinces. These confrontations routinely escalate into full-blown battles using heavy weaponry in residential areas, resulting in civilian casualties and significant property damage.

Meanwhile, al-Qaeda operatives continue to move freely in the occupied regions, benefiting from both direct and indirect support from the occupying powers. Analysts say the group’s periodic resurfacing and claim of certain operations are part of a broader power game among the warring factions — serving as messages exchanged between their regional backers amid overlapping interests.

Parallel to the worsening security conditions, the humanitarian situation in Aden continues to deteriorate. Residents are suffering from prolonged power outages lasting up to 22 hours a day, a crisis that the occupying coalition is fully capable of resolving but deliberately sustains to deepen public suffering and distract citizens from their national causes.
