News - Yemen: Yemeni political and media analysts have warned that the situation in Yemen’s southern and eastern provinces—currently under Saudi-Emirati occupation—has reached a deeply troubling state, marked by widespread instability, deteriorating services, and escalating security tensions.

Deputy Minister of Information and political analyst Mohammed Mansour described the conditions in those provinces as “painful and disastrous,” noting that residents have endured years of lawlessness and complete service collapse.

Mansour further stressed that the UAE occupation has transformed southern and eastern Yemen into arenas of chaos and score-settling, undermining security and stability throughout the region.

Journalist Mahfouz Nasser echoed these concerns, noting that the growing field disorder in southern Yemen coincides with the emergence of terrorist cells and extremist mobilizations allegedly directed by the “government of traitors and agents.”

He emphasized that the Saudi-Emirati coalition seeks to create chaos that distracts the occupied southern public from national issues and fractures the unity of the resistance and reform forces.

Nasser also explained that the presence of terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, Daesh in southern Yemen is no coincidence, but rather a “functional tool” employed to execute disruptive agendas that fragment society and drive away investors.

He continuous military buildup along the western coast and in the eastern regions enables the occupation forces to tighten their grip on key strategic points and turn the south into a base for orchestrated terrorist activity—all under the pretext of “combating extremism.”

He concluded that this strategy aims to divert public attention from essential services while weakening the forces of resistance and reform in the face of ongoing foreign domination.

Since 2015, Aden and other southern Yemeni provinces have been under Saudi- and Emirati-backed occupation, with the Riyadh-backed Presidential Council and allied militias controlling the city. Chronic corruption, unpaid salaries, power outages, and arbitrary arrests have fueled widespread public anger, reflecting broader unrest across southern Yemen and raising the risk of escalating protests and instability.
