News – Yemen: Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, affirmed on Tuesday the pivotal role of martyrdom as a central faith-based and existential value for the nation, shielding it from humiliation and destruction while empowering it against its enemies.

In his address on the occasion of the annual martyrs commemoration, Sayyed Abdulmalik said, “Martyrdom is an extraordinary honor granted by Allah to those killed in His path, moving along the path He has outlined.”

He emphasized that “martyrdom is life for the nation and a shield from annihilation and disgrace,” adding that its fruit is “protection for the people, repelling evil, confronting tyranny, and challenging criminals.” He noted that “a nation that moves with the spirit of jihad and martyrdom honors itself and defends against threats.”

The Leader highlighted numerous examples across history and in the present era where believers and fighters achieved great victories through martyrdom. He explained that the reward for sacrifice in Allah’s path manifests in worldly victories, glory, and empowerment, and in the Hereafter, the ultimate triumph, eternal bliss, and lasting happiness.

Sayyed Abdulmalik cautioned that communities living in fear, intimidation, or extreme anxiety restrain themselves for their enemies, failing to gain safety while exposing themselves to greater dangers. He referred to US admissions of three million deaths in the Arab and Muslim regions as evidence of the risks of abandoning jihad, leaving populations vulnerable to enemy exploitation and slaughter.

He further compared the current state of the nation—fragmented, divided, lacking awareness, and infiltrated by collaborators—to a consequence of submission and the abandonment of jihad and martyrdom, which fuels enemy ambition. He stressed that faith-based resilience builds the nation with high morale, courage, steadfastness, and strength to face all challenges.

The Leader described jihad in Allah’s path as “the highest response to the inevitable human struggle,” emphasizing that “martyrdom is not a substitute for the culture of life, as some claim, but the true culture of life itself.” He explained that martyrdom elevates one to the readiness to sacrifice oneself in Allah’s path and that “there is never any loss with Allah; martyrs are granted what is far better than this worldly life.”

Sayyed Abdulmalik underscored that those embracing the spirit of martyrdom contributed most significantly and effectively when facing critical, decisive challenges. He added that martyrs actively embodied Islamic and faith-based values at the highest levels, linking their inevitable departure to practical and principled action for a cause.

He warned against the “culture of subjugation,” which exposes the nation to death and destruction without yielding any fruit, replacing genuine sacrifices with offerings in service to the enemies. He also criticized extremist and mercenary groups that redirect their hostility to align with American and Israeli agendas.

The Leader concluded by affirming that when a nation or society acts sincerely in Allah’s path and sacrifices for His cause, Allah grants victory and support, never abandoning them. He stressed that martyrdom is not a loss but a divine blessing—a spiritual capital that shields the nation, empowers society, and builds a resilient community capable of steadfastness and confrontation.
