The confessions of captured spies have uncovered detailed methods of recruitment, intensive training programs, and the advanced technologies used in field operations to gather intelligence and relay data to the enemy. Operatives admitted to working under deceptive “humanitarian” and “developmental” covers to conceal espionage and sabotage activities targeting Yemen’s internal front.
The revelations highlight the extensive planning behind the network’s structure, its persistent attempts to infiltrate state institutions, and the vigilant efforts of Yemeni security agencies that, through divine guidance and constant readiness, successfully thwarted all hostile schemes.
Training and Methods: 'Humanitarian Work' as a Cover for Espionage
According to the confessions, agents underwent multi-stage training — from psychological preparation to advanced technical instruction — before being assigned field missions under false pretexts of community or development work.
Spy Basheer Ali Mahdi stated that he received several regional and local courses, including one at the “Civil Society Academy” in partnership with the International Republican Institute (IRI) in 2018. He later joined a “Train-the-Trainers” course on social cohesion organized by Dar Al-Salam Organization, Partners Yemen, and the Center for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD) in Addis Ababa in 2019.
Mahdi revealed that these programs were used to pass intelligence messages through “Qudrah Organization” development projects, collect economic data to incite public discontent, and plant sources inside executive offices under the guise of “capacity building.”
Another spy, Ali Ali Ahmed, said he underwent 14 days of intensive training in Riyadh’s Al-Aarid district under the supervision of Saudi officers — codenamed Abu Amer, Abu Abdullah, and Yasser. He was trained to describe buildings, estimate their floors and owners, identify security guards, and use mobile applications to send coordinates, reports, and photographs without arousing suspicion.
Field Surveillance and Intelligence Collection
Spy Majdi Mohammed Hussein admitted he began his tasks in Cairo using a remote-control device equipped with a hidden camera to monitor buildings and guard activity, transmitting live data through mapping apps. He later received advanced tools including a “Khazin” data device, a black modem, and a Galaxy A14 smartphone for encrypted broadcasting.
Spy Anas Ahmed Saleh said he specialized in identifying residential and commercial buildings, monitoring security cameras, and mapping exits before transmitting information to his handlers. He was trained to change routes and behavior patterns to avoid detection.
Spy Sinan Abdulaziz Ali confessed to receiving training and equipment from Saudi, American, and British intelligence officers — including John, Michael, and Alexander. He used multiple broadcasting devices, smartphones, and laptops equipped with live-streaming applications and Wi-Fi scanners capable of detecting nearby Bluetooth and network signals within 20 meters.
Spy Dhaifallah Saleh said he was tested by an American officer named David, who provided him with a custom program for remote photo and video capture that automatically transmitted data to supervising officers once connected to the internet.
Devices and Applications Used
The captured spies confirmed that the network relied on a wide range of sophisticated equipment and mobile applications for data gathering, including hidden cameras disguised as car remotes, encrypted broadcasting tools, and “Khazin” storage systems for real-time transmission.
They also revealed that the Israeli enemy and its Saudi and American partners provided regular updates on software and tools to enhance surveillance efficiency and avoid Yemeni counterintelligence detection.
Broader Implications
The confessions expose how espionage operations were disguised under humanitarian and development initiatives, allowing hostile intelligence agencies to infiltrate Yemeni institutions and communities.
