In a speech delivered during an event marking the annual Martyr’s Anniversary, scholar Shams Al-Din stated that any form of alliance or cooperation with the enemies of the Islamic nation constitutes apostasy from the religion.
He emphasized the importance of commemorating Martyr’s Day as an occasion to draw inspiration from the values of courage, sacrifice, and selflessness embodied by the martyrs, and to reinforce the culture of jihad and martyrdom within society. He added that it is also a time to renew the pledge to continue on the path of those who sacrificed their lives for faith and homeland.
The Grand Mufti highlighted the high spiritual status of martyrs before Allah due to their sincerity and sacrifices for the sake of truth, noting that they stood firmly against oppression and tyranny in defense of the nation, its sanctities, and the oppressed. He called for honoring and caring for the families of martyrs as a national and moral duty.
He also praised the major security success achieved through the operation “And Their Plot Will Fail”, which exposed a joint espionage network involving the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Israeli Mossad, and Saudi intelligence.
He attributed the success of the operation to Yemen’s vigilance, high security awareness, and deep understanding of the Zionist conspiracy that seeks to weaken Yemen’s steadfast stance in support of national and regional causes.
For his part, the Chairman of the General Corporation for Social Insurance, Sharaf Al-Din Al-Kahlani, said that commemorating Martyr’s Day reflects loyalty to the martyrs and pride in their sacrifices for Allah, the homeland, and independence.
He stressed the need to follow the martyrs’ example in action, sincerity, and perseverance, noting that their sacrifices place great responsibility on all to confront current challenges.
Al-Kahlani added that Martyr’s Day serves as a moment for mobilization, motivation, and unity of efforts to strengthen the internal front and enhance support for the nation’s central causes—foremost among them, the Palestinian cause.
On the sidelines of the event, the Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development inaugurated an exhibition showcasing photos of the ministry’s martyrs and its affiliated units.
The latest revelations come amid a broader Yemeni security campaign targeting espionage and sabotage networks linked to foreign intelligence services.
Recent investigations have exposed the use of humanitarian organizations as fronts for surveillance operations, with equipment and software originally installed by Western embassies before their closure in Sana’a.
Yemen’s growing intelligence strength — combining human expertise, cyber surveillance, and field operations — has repeatedly frustrated enemy plans to destabilize the country.
Officials say these efforts not only protect Yemen’s internal front but also strengthen its role in the regional struggle against the Zionist entity and its American and Saudi partners.
