New Price Hike Strikes Occupied Aden Amid Mounting Public Anger

News - Yemen: The occupied city of Aden is witnessing growing public discontent as a new wave of price hikes hits essential goods and services, deepening the already dire living conditions under the control of Saudi-UAE occupation forces and their local proxies.

According to local sources, the past two weeks have seen sharp increases in the prices of foodstuffs, fuel derivatives, medicine, and restaurant meals—despite the relative stability of the exchange rate.

Residents and traders alike expressed outrage over the unrestrained escalation, which they attribute to the total absence of oversight and the failure of the so-called “government of traitors” to implement any regulatory measures to curb market manipulation.

Economists noted that the new surge stems directly from the reckless fiscal policies of the Al-Alimi administration, compounded by deep-rooted corruption and the absence of institutional accountability within the externally based authorities loyal to the aggression coalition.
As a result, citizens continue to bear the full brunt of the economic collapse gripping occupied southern governorates.

Residents report that restaurant prices have risen by over 15 percent, while the cost of medicines has increased between 10 percent and 25 percent in just a few days, further straining families’ already limited purchasing power amid expanding poverty and unemployment.

Observers stress that the continued inflation despite exchange-rate stability exposes the magnitude of financial mismanagement and corruption plaguing the mercenary administration. With no tangible solutions to the worsening crises of fuel, services, and food supply, frustration in the streets of Aden is rapidly intensifying.

The latest price hike reflects the broader economic collapse gripping areas under Saudi-UAE occupation since 2015. Once Yemen’s economic hub, Aden has descended into instability and financial paralysis as rival factions compete for control and public services collapse. Analysts say these crises stem from deliberate policies of resource looting and mismanagement aimed at weakening Yemen’s sovereignty—warning that rising anger over corruption and living costs could soon trigger a widespread popular uprising in the occupied south.
