News - Yemen: Yemen’s Interior Ministry has revealed new confessions from Khalid Qassem Abdullah, a 31-year-old spy linked to the foreign espionage network coordinated by the US, the Zionist entity, and Saudi intelligence. 

The ministry says Khalid played a central role in surveillance and sabotage operations against the country, marking one of the most dangerous spy cells uncovered in over a decade.

Authorities report that Khalid was recruited by Nasser Ali Al-Sheibah, a known operative for enemy intelligence, while working as a security guard for an international organization in Hadda, Sana’a. By early 2024, Khalid began working with a shipping company connected online to US-based entities.

Khalid’s confessions detail how Al-Sheibah persuaded him to assist in spying on government leaders’ residences. He explained that he was instructed to place surveillance cameras in strategic locations on walls, trees, and other fixtures to remain concealed and effective, often during late hours to avoid detection.

Khalid confirmed that he and Al-Sheibah targeted 23 homes, installing cameras in at least seven of them. One specific operation on December 21, 2024, involved placing a camera in a block near a residence on Iran Street, monitored remotely via laptop while enemy drones subsequently targeted the same location.

Investigations show that these espionage networks operated under civilian covers, exploiting humanitarian and development projects to penetrate state institutions, collect intelligence on military, political, and security leaders, and monitor strategic infrastructure.

Authorities highlight that this network represents a sophisticated foreign strategy to destabilize Yemen from within, manipulate public opinion, and create security vacuums in major cities. The use of local collaborators and covert technology, such as hidden cameras and drones, underscores the lengths to which foreign intelligence seeks to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty.

Khalid’s arrest and the exposure of operatives like Al-Sheibah mark a significant disruption of these hostile operations, emphasizing that vigilant security measures continue to protect the country against foreign espionage.
