News - World: Latin American countries have been making preparations for a response to possible US aggression against Venezuela.

Brazil’s UOL portal reported that diplomatic officials from several Latin American states are holding talks to review the possibilities of preparing a joint declaration condemning the US's aggressive actions against Venezuela.

Representatives of diplomatic missions from several countries are already holding consultations to prepare a response to “possible American aggression,” it said.

The UOL also cited unnamed diplomatic sources as saying that a joint response to US actions is necessary, otherwise the White House will feel empowered to continue to use aggressive force to achieve its goals in the region.

Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico should be the first to condemn Washington’s aggression, the outlet opined.

Washington has made false accusations against Venezuela, claiming Caracas is not proactive enough in combating drug trafficking in the region.

It is using this as a pretext, according to The New York Times, to justify the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s anti-Caracas plot.

Trump has ordered the CIA to launch covert “regime change” operations in the Bolivarian Republic to replace the democratically-elected leftist government with a pro-Washington puppet regime.

US media reports have repeatedly warned that American military forces may soon begin striking targets in Venezuela.

However, Trump, on October 31, denied that he was considering strikes against targets inside Venezuela. He contradicted his own earlier assertion of considering the possibility of launching strikes on the territory of this country.
