Yemen Unveils Saudi–US Spy Network Targeting Embassies and Government Buildings in Sana’a

News - Yemen: Yemen’s Interior Ministry has released new details from confessions of the recently exposed US-Saudi-Zionist spy cell, revealed during the Their Plot Will Fail operation.

Among the principal spies is 41-year-old Magdy Mohammed Hussein, who played a key role in conducting surveillance on embassies, government offices, and civilian buildings in Sana’a before his arrest on July 20, 2025.

According to his confessions, Hussein was recruited through a shipping company where he worked. A colleague informed him about a Saudi individual seeking Yemeni workers for a security company. Unable to enter Saudi Arabia due to “exit-and-did-not-return” restrictions, Hussein was instructed to meet intelligence operatives abroad.

Weeks later, he traveled to Cairo, where he met a woman named Katr Hin and an American officer named John. There, he received initial training on surveillance and photography equipment, including cameras hidden in car remotes, data storage, and memory extraction.

Hussein later gained entry to Saudi Arabia after the authorities permitted travel for those previously barred. In Riyadh, he received advanced training from a Saudi officer named Abu Saif and an American officer, and he was provided with network-extraction devices and applications to transfer intelligence data.

His assigned tasks included monitoring embassies and government buildings in Sana’a, documenting security cameras, guard movements, building layouts, and activity inside these premises. Later, his mission extended to photographing homes and buildings targeted by airstrikes, extracting digital networks, and sending them via specialized applications to the Saudi officer.

In a subsequent phase, Hussein received a car equipped with surveillance and live-streaming devices connected to a Riyadh operations room. He was instructed to park at specific locations, leave for up to two hours, and return to reposition or operate the equipment as directed. In his first nighttime mission, he was deployed in front of an event hall to operate the broadcasting equipment before being moved to a different location.

Hussein described his initial contact with the network: a message asking, “Are you still looking for work?” He was then informed he had been recommended as suitable for the position and asked if he could travel to countries in Africa, East Asia, or China. After multiple communications, he was instructed to meet face-to-face to discuss the work in detail.

When asked about entering Saudi Arabia, Hussein explained that his previous residence permit had expired and that he was on the “exit-and-did-not-return” list. Subsequently, he was contacted by a woman, believed to be named Katrina, who facilitated his connection to a Saudi officer, later confirmed as Abu Saif, who became his direct supervisor and trainer.

Weeks later, Abu Saif informed Magdy Hussein of a meeting in Cairo and instructed him to arrange a travel ticket. An intermediary office assisted him with a medical report and flight booking for a fee of $700.

Hussein told his family he was traveling abroad for a security company interview. He traveled to Aden, stayed two days, and then departed to Cairo in late 2022.

Upon arrival, he was contacted again by Katrina, who confirmed that the other operatives had also reached Cairo and that the meeting would take place the next day. On the third morning of his stay, she sent him the location of the hotel for the meeting—a large hotel in Cairo’s Tahrir Square.

Hussein met there with a third individual introduced by his escorts as the technical officer, responsible for explaining his tasks and training him. The training began with a demonstration of a car remote concealing a high-resolution camera. An American operative, later identified as John, instructed him on operating the device, turning it on and off, recording video and still images, and removing and replacing the memory module.

The trainers explained that all work would be conducted under the cover of a “security company.” Hussein’s primary tasks included reconnaissance of specific sites such as embassies, organization offices, and government and private buildings. He was instructed to assess their security by monitoring guards, counting cameras, observing employee movements, and evaluating overall activity.

This completed the first stage of Hussein’s recruitment, paving the way for his subsequent transfer to Riyadh, where he received advanced equipment, culminating in the provision of a vehicle equipped for live broadcasting. Hussein continued these espionage operations in Sana’a until his arrest in July 2025 for carrying out extensive intelligence-gathering missions.

Yemen’s Interior Ministry continues to expose a sophisticated espionage network orchestrated by Saudi and US intelligence, in coordination with the Israeli enemy, aimed at undermining the country’s security.

Recent investigations reveal that the network recruited local collaborators to surveil diplomatic missions, government offices, and civilian structures in the capital, providing detailed intelligence for hostile operations. The ongoing disclosures underscore the extensive reach of foreign intelligence activities within Yemen and the serious threat they pose to national sovereignty.
