Leaked Israeli Reports Reveal Major Intelligence Failure on Oct. 7, Massive Psychological Collapse Costing 500 Billion Shekels

News - Middle East: New Israeli media leaks have exposed severe failures inside the Israeli enemy’s military and intelligence establishment during and after the October 7 Al-Aqsa Flood operation. The leaks include unprecedented admissions regarding a deep breach of the enemy’s armored units as well as the mounting psychological and economic fallout across Israeli society.

According to Doron Kadosh, the military affairs correspondent for the enemy’s Army Radio, fighters of the Hamas resistance were able to disable advanced Merkava-4 tanks by using a “secret button” inside the tank—information believed to be restricted to elite armored corps officers. Israeli reports described the incident as a dramatic intelligence collapse, indicating that the Palestinian resistance obtained highly sensitive and technical data about one of the enemy’s most guarded weapon systems.

Kadosh acknowledged that for months after the October 7 attack, the army had no explanation for how the resistance learned the mechanism that temporarily disables the tank, rendering it inoperable in combat. The failure, he said, shook the confidence of the security establishment and raised concerns of a significant intelligence breach within the enemy’s armored forces.

New disclosures further indicate that Hamas had spent years collecting detailed technical and intelligence data on the Merkava and other strategic weapons systems, enabling fighters to neutralize tanks upon arrival at battle zones and paralyze entire armored units in the early hours of the operation.

Israeli analysts described the revelations as a blow to the enemy’s long-held doctrine of “technological superiority,” revealing weaknesses in secrecy, inadequate troop training, and overdependence on technology without fully understanding emerging asymmetric threats.

In a separate series of leaks, Israeli reports have also highlighted the deep psychological crisis sweeping across Israeli society. According to figures from “Natal,” an Israeli organization specializing in trauma and psychological disorders, the long-term cost of trauma-related injuries from the October 7 attack is expected to reach 500 billion shekels within five years—a burden described as one of the most severe socio-economic shocks in the enemy entity’s history.

The report states that 29.8 percent of Israelis now show symptoms of post-traumatic stress, a level considered devastating for a society that relies heavily on high morale, economic stability, and military readiness. Analysts warn that the true impact could be significantly higher, as psychological effects typically intensify over time.

Data indicates that around 625,000 Israelis are at high risk of losing their jobs due to trauma-related disorders, threatening a serious decline in productivity, a rise in unemployment, and long-term strain on the private sector and government institutions.

Experts describe the situation as a “moral collapse” that undermines the enemy’s self-declared psychological deterrence doctrine—built on projecting stability and security to settlers. Internal investigations show widespread anxiety, sleep disorders, panic episodes, and symptoms of acute fear among soldiers and settlers alike.

Economists warn that the projected psychological cost could push the enemy entity into deep recession as foreign investment declines, capital flees, and global companies lose confidence in the unstable economic environment. Security assessments also indicate thousands of soldiers are currently unfit to return to combat, aggravating an ongoing crisis of confidence within the enemy’s military following the October 7 defeat.

Analysts say the combined military, intelligence, and psychological shocks mark a historic rupture in the structure of Israeli society, dismantling decades-old claims of resilience and exposing a fragile social fabric shaken to its core by the events of October 7.

The October 7 Al-Aqsa Flood attack by Palestinian resistance forces resulted in a full breach of the Israeli enemy’s security perimeter around Gaza, inflicting severe losses on military units and intelligence systems. The aftermath has led to continuous internal investigations, leaks, and public criticism, revealing structural vulnerabilities in the enemy’s armed forces, armored corps, and civilian psychological resilience.
