The statement asserted that the United States, the Zionist entity, the UK, and their regional allies have failed militarily to weaken the will of the Yemeni people or halt their operations in support of Gaza. It added that Yemeni media outlets have played a “distinctive role” in exposing the crimes of the Zionist enemy and amplifying coverage related to Gaza.
According to the ministry, several platforms — particularly Facebook — have recently imposed sweeping restrictions on Yemeni users, describing the move as a hostile attempt to muzzle free voices and suppress anti-Zionist content.
The ministry said these measures reflect weakness and embarrassment on the part of the United States, contradicting Washington’s stated commitment to freedom of opinion and expression.
It stressed that repeated attempts to silence Yemeni media will not succeed, noting that Yemen has emerged from years of conflict with “greater resilience and a stronger presence at all levels.”
The statement maintained that the United States and the Zionist entity are clearly behind these restrictions, portraying them as part of preparations for a renewed escalation after failing to pressure Yemen into abandoning its stance in support of Gaza.
The ministry described the closure of Yemeni accounts as “evidence of the effectiveness and impact of the Yemeni media front,” arguing that resorting to censorship “reveals their inability to confront our people in this arena.”
The statement called on free people around the world and all organizations concerned with rights, freedoms, and press protection to condemn the restrictions, urging independent voices to support Yemenis “in conveying their message and countering US-Zionist attempts to silence them.”
The ministry concluded by affirming its readiness to “take appropriate measures in coordination with the relevant authorities,” vowing that it “will neither remain silent nor stand idly by in the face of this aggression.”
The escalating restrictions on Yemeni accounts come amid rising regional tensions linked to the ongoing war in Gaza and Yemen’s declared support for Palestinian resistance factions. Since late 2023, the Yemeni Armed Forces have intensified operations targeting Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea, drawing international criticism and military responses from the United States and the UK.
