News- Middle East: The Israeli military has launched two new ground incursions into Syria, marking yet another breach of the country’s sovereignty.

According to the SANA news agency, Israeli forces advanced towards the western side of Saida al-Hanout village in southern Quneitra on Monday.

Three Israeli vehicles took positions in the village, while a military drone operated by the regime conducted surveillance over the area.

A second incursion also took place on Monday in the southern Quneitra countryside, according to the report.

During the raid, Israeli forces, accompanied by two Humvees and two personnel carriers, moved to the top of Tel Abu Qubays hill on the outskirts of Ein Zivan village.

On Friday, an Israeli attack on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside killed 13 people and injured 25 others, sparking widespread condemnations.

After the collapse of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024, Israel has launched frequent aerial assaults across Syria and ground incursions in the southern part of the country.

Israel has also set up numerous checkpoints in the Arab country and abducted Syrian citizens.

The regime has further expanded control over the occupied Golan Heights, taking over a demilitarized buffer zone in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

 Analysts say the Israeli deployments serve as a cover for a broader strategy of territorial expansion.

The Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-led Syrian regime’s inaction and normalization efforts towards Tel Aviv have emboldened Israeli forces to intensify their occupation campaign.
