News - Yemen: Mahra Governor Al-Qutbi Al-Farji said the conflicts unfolding in the occupied provinces—driven by Saudi and Emirati interventions with British and American support represent a clear form of occupation. He stressed that the “criminal and reckless practices” carried out by Saudi-UAE forces and their allied militias are fueling public anger and growing resentment toward the deteriorating conditions in these areas.

The governor noted that the recent Saudi-UAE activities in Mahra and Hadhramawt are part of a dangerous plan led by the US-Israeli axis to create conditions for dividing the country and looting its wealth.

Al-Farji added that the actions of the so-called Southern Transitional Council and the militias aligned with the Saudi-UAE coalition in Mahra and Hadhramawt constitute efforts to seize control of the two provinces, tighten pressure on their residents, and impose foreign agendas.

He emphasized that Saudi collusion with Emirati-backed groups in the occupied provinces reveals a joint framework aimed at advancing external projects designed to fragment Yemen and turn these areas—particularly Hadhramawt and Mahra—into arenas of conflict as part of an explicit partition scheme.

According to the governor, such practices will only strengthen the determination of the people of Mahra and the occupied provinces as a whole, making them more resolved to resist occupation in all its forms. He recalled the legacy of past generations who fought against foreign domination and expelled occupiers from Yemeni territory.

Al-Farji stated that the people of Mahra have become increasingly aware of the goals and ambitions of the US-Israeli occupation and its tools—Saudi Arabia and the UAE—whose intentions include seizing the country’s resources and controlling international shipping routes and key land and maritime crossings in the occupied regions.

He urged the free people of the occupied provinces—especially the residents of Mahra, tribal groups, and civil-society organizations—to unify efforts to confront occupying forces and thwart their plans. He called for cohesion and collective action to stop the oppressive practices of the occupation and its proxies.

The governor stressed that national unity is the only effective path to counter the threats facing the country, affirming that a unified popular stance remains the strongest barrier against schemes aimed at tearing apart Yemen’s social fabric and undermining its stability.

The southern provinces have witnessed growing discontent over the presence of foreign military forces, including Saudi and Emirati troops, as part of the US-Saudi-led coalition that has occupied strategic areas since 2015.
