Wounded Mercenaries in Taiz Shut Down Government Offices in Protest Over Neglect

News – Yemen: Wounded fighters affiliated with the Saudi-led aggression in the occupied city of Taiz escalated their protests on Tuesday by closing several key government revenue and service offices, denouncing what they described as persistent neglect and deliberate disregard by the Aden-based authorities.

Local sources reported that the protesters—described by opponents as collaborators with the coalition of aggression—shut down the offices of finance, taxation, telecommunications, industry, and commerce in areas under the control of the aggression. The escalation comes after more than 25 days of sit-ins and unfulfilled demands.

According to representatives of the wounded fighters, the move was driven by continued delays in medical care and months-long non-payment of financial allowances. They accused the loyalist government of repeatedly making empty promises without implementing any practical solutions.

The protest highlights worsening internal fractures within the Saudi–UAE coalition and the forces aligned with it, amid widespread criticism of corruption and mismanagement in the Aden-based government. Taiz—long a major frontline—remains under the control of an unstable mix of coalition-backed militias who increasingly accuse their sponsors of abandoning them.

Neglect of wounded fighters has become a recurring issue across aggression-held areas, reflecting a broader trend in which local forces are used for military purposes but denied basic rights and overdue entitlements. The resulting frustration has fueled repeated demonstrations and declining morale among fighters on sensitive frontlines.

This latest escalation in Taiz comes as the humanitarian situation in Yemen continues to deteriorate, deepening public anger toward the coalition and its local proxies.
