News - Middle East: Israel has admitted that it inflicted less damage to Iran during the 12-day war in June than it initially thought, a report says.

The Israeli military’s intelligence directorate head Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder told visiting US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz earlier this week that Israel believes that Iran's ballistic missile program suffered less damage in the war than initially thought.

The al-Monitor website cited a source familiar with the issue as saying that Tel Aviv is again urging Washington to act against Iran.

“This is a threat that Israel will not be able to accept for long, and we must coordinate with the Americans the red lines and actions we will take in the future, perhaps even in the near future,” the source added.

This comes as the Times of Israel claimed that Iran currently “possesses around 2,000 heavy ballistic missiles, roughly the same number it had on the eve of the war.”

On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked war against Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists, and ordinary civilians.

More than a week later, the United States also entered the war and bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, in a clear violation of international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted strategic sites across the occupied territories as well as the US al-Udeid air base.

On June 24, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the illegal assault.
