Fadl Abutaleb said the situation in areas under Saudi-Emirati occupation reveals the emptiness of claims about restoring the state, defending unity, and upholding the republic, constitution, and political system. In a post on his X account, Abutaleb described such rhetoric as “false slogans” aimed at deceiving ordinary people and pushing them to fight under Saudi and Emirati leadership to serve foreign conspiracies against Yemen, its unity, and its independence.
In a related statement, political bureau member Ali al-Qahoum said Saudi Arabia continues to host figures, whom Riyadh regards as its lost source of legitimacy.
He accused Saudi Arabia of seeking to recycle and reintroduce these figures in an attempt to restore Yemen to a former “backyard,” allowing Riyadh to reassert its influence and control over Yemen’s political decision-making.
Al-Qahoum stressed that such efforts would fail, even if Saudi Arabia relied on traitors and agents of the so-called Special Committee, or sought to buy international positions.
Meanwhile, another political bureau member, Abdullah al-Naami, said Saudi Arabia’s reliance on mercenaries had proven to be a “failed bet,” yielding nothing but “noise and bluster.” He accused Riyadh of destroying Yemen, draining its own financial resources, and severing ties of neighborhood and kinship, only to end up, he said, with no gains to show for it.
In March 2015, Yemen was subjected to a sustained US-Saudi-Emirati aggression marked by intensive airstrikes, ground attacks, and a comprehensive blockade that has devastated the country’s civilian infrastructure and humanitarian situation.
According to local and international reports, the aggression has systematically targeted residential neighborhoods, markets, farms, roads, weddings, and public facilities, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of thousands of civilians, the majority of them women and children.
The continuation of these attacks, alongside economic strangulation and fuel restrictions, has deepened one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, amid persistent international silence and the absence of accountability for war crimes committed against the Yemeni people.
