Dec. 24: American-Saudi-Emirati Aggression Leaves a Record of War Crimes Across Yemen

News – Yemen : Yemenis on Tuesday commemorated Dec. 24 as a day bearing the clear fingerprints of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression, recalling a series of attacks over successive years that killed and wounded dozens of civilians and caused extensive destruction to homes, markets, roads and public facilities.

In 2015, airstrikes hit areas in Taiz, Hodeidah and Sa’adah, killing and injuring civilians, including truck drivers and market-goers, while cluster munitions left behind deadly remnants.

Residential neighborhoods, commercial complexes and public roads were repeatedly targeted.

In 2016, coalition warplanes struck a family home in Ibb province, killing an entire household, and carried out multiple raids on Sana’a, Sa’adah and other provinces, damaging schools, homes and farms amid continued use of cluster bombs and cross-border shelling.

The pattern continued in 2017, with civilians killed and homes destroyed in Sa’adah, Sana’a, Marib and Taiz, alongside heavy rocket and artillery fire by coalition forces and their mercenaries on residential areas.

In 2018 and 2019, airstrikes and artillery attacks expanded across Al-Jawf, Sa’adah and Hodeidah, including deadly shelling of border markets that killed civilians and African migrants, and sustained fire on densely populated neighborhoods.

In 2020, landmines and cross-border shelling claimed civilian lives in Sa’adah, while air raids struck Marib, Al-Jawf, Hajjah and Al-Baida. Similar attacks persisted in 2021, including strikes near hospitals, telecommunications facilities and main roads in Sana’a and other provinces, causing casualties, mass panic and severe damage to civilian property.

In 2022, artillery shelling again hit border districts in Sa’adah, killing and injuring civilians, including African migrants, while mercenary forces fortified positions and shelled residential areas in Hodeidah.

Local documentation of these incidents concludes that the repeated attacks on civilians, markets, homes, farms and even places of worship constitute “purely American-Zionist crimes,” carried out through the Saudi-Emirati coalition and its tools.

Despite the scale and brutality of the aggression, Yemenis reaffirmed their steadfastness, stressing that years of war, blockade and destruction have failed to break their resolve, declaring that such crimes will only deepen their determination to resist and to reject humiliation.

December 24 marks one of the darkest dates in Yemen’s wartime memory, reflecting years of airstrikes, shelling and cluster-munition attacks carried out by the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition.

The incidents form part of a broader war launched with US backing and in coordination with the Zionist entity, targeting civilians, infrastructure and livelihoods across multiple Yemeni provinces—acts widely described by local and legal observers as crimes against humanity that do not expire with time.
