News - Yemen: Yemen's Parliament has strongly condemned widespread chaos, looting of resources, road blockades, and the seizure of citizens’ property in occupied Yemeni areas, warning that such practices pose a serious threat to Yemen’s unity and sovereignty.

In a statement, the Parliament denounced the targeting of citizens from northern provinces in those areas and cautioned against actions that undermine national cohesion. It called on “the free and rational people” of the occupied Yemeni governorates to unite their ranks in order to thwart conspiracies and schemes aimed at dividing Yemen, stressing the need to preserve the country’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.

The statement warned against aligning with what it termed destructive agendas that target Yemen’s land and people, urging vigilance in the face of ongoing national and regional developments.

In a separate development, the Parliament welcomed the Algerian National People’s Assembly’s unanimous approval of a law criminalizing French colonialism in Algeria and demanding that France issue an official apology and provide compensation for the material and moral damages caused by 132 years of colonial rule.

The Parliament said the move 0reflects the will of the Algerian people to protect their national memory and defend their historical rights. It added that the step also embodies the aspirations of Arab and Islamic nations in confronting occupiers and new forms of colonialism, affirming that peoples never forget those who harm them or threaten their unity, security, and stability.

The statement pointed out that French colonialism in Algeria committed war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, resulting in the martyrdom of millions of Algerians. It called on regional and international parliaments to adopt similar measures in pursuit of historical justice and fairness for peoples harmed by colonialism and occupation worldwide.

The Parliament also expressed regret over the involvement of some Arab regimes in the internal affairs of other states, warning of the serious implications and risks such interference poses to regional security and international peace.

Additionally, the Parliament strongly condemned the “heinous terrorist attack” that targeted worshippers at the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi al-Dhahab neighborhood of Homs, Syria, resulting in the deaths of a number of innocent civilians.

It reaffirmed its categorical rejection and condemnation of all terrorist acts and all forms of extremism and violence, regardless of their motives or justifications, and expressed Yemen’s solidarity with the Syrian people in confronting violence, extremism, and terrorism.

This statement comes amid escalating political, security, and economic instability in Yemen’s occupied governorates, where widespread looting of public and private resources, obstruction of main roads, and violations against citizens’ property have intensified in recent months. These conditions have been accompanied by growing concerns over foreign-backed agendas and internal actors accused of fueling fragmentation, undermining national unity, and deepening divisions along regional and political lines.
