Yemen Parliament emphasized the readiness of the country’s Armed Forces to respond to any movements by the Israeli enemy in the Red Sea and Horn of Africa, labeling such actions as hostile threats.
The parliament stressed that Arab and Islamic unity is essential to confront these challenges and support the causes of the Ummah in Palestine, Lebanon, and Somalia.
In a statement, the parliament expressed full support for Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi’s guidance regarding the Israeli enemy’s aggressive moves in the region, authorizing political and military leadership to take all necessary measures to protect Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, security, and stability.
It warned of Zionist ambitions to establish a foothold in Somalia, which could threaten the Red Sea and Horn of Africa. It called on Arab, Islamic, and international parliaments to take decisive measures to halt such interventions.
For its part, the Joint Meeting Parties condemned the recognition as blatant interference in Somali affairs and a direct violation of Somalia’s territorial integrity. They considered it as part of a Zionist expansionist plan to secure a foothold in the Horn of Africa and Bab al-Mandab, posing a direct threat to Arab and regional security.
The parties fully endorsed Sayyed Abdulmalik’s positions and urged Arab and Red Sea littoral states to take practical and effective steps to counter the Israeli enemy’s schemes.
Meanwhile, the government echoed these concerns, reaffirming Yemen’s solidarity with Somalia and emphasizing that the Israeli enemy’s recognition carries no legitimacy.
The government stressed that Yemen will not permit any Israeli enemy activity in Somaliland and will take all necessary measures to defend Somalia, Yemen, and regional security, including military options if needed.
The government also called on Arab and Islamic states, particularly Red Sea littoral countries, to move beyond formal statements and take serious action to prevent such initiatives. It warned that collaborators with the Israeli enemy, whether in Somaliland or other Arab countries, will face severe consequences, emphasizing that no one is immune from targeting by the Israeli enemy and its US backers.
Finally, the government endorsed all measures outlined by Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and the Supreme Political Council, committing to their full implementation to protect the sovereignty, unity, and security of Yemen and the region.
On Friday, the Israeli enemy announced its recognition of the self-declared “Somaliland” region, a move that lacks any international legal basis.
Somaliland declared unilateral independence from Somalia in 1991, but to date has not been recognized by any UN member state, with Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remaining internationally affirmed.
The step followed months of reports indicating contacts involving the Israeli enemy and the US with authorities in Somaliland, as well as other locations, in the context of regional arrangements linked to Gaza.
