In a statement to Almasirah, Sheikh Abdulqadir said that Israel’s recognition is “worthless, coming from an illegitimate entity to another illegitimate entity,” noting widespread public outrage across Greater Somalia against collaborators of the Zionist entity.
He emphasized that the “Jewish dream of establishing a foothold in Somali lands will not succeed,” and praised Somalia’s official and popular support for the Palestinian cause.
Sheikh Abdulqadir also announced that the Somali community in Yemen plans to hold a protest in Sana'a on Tuesday, coinciding with demonstrations in Somalia and East Africa, condemning Zionist collaborators in the region.
He is recognized as a prominent African activist in Yemen, representing Somali and other African communities on key issues and maintaining close communication with community leaders across the region.
The remarks come after the Israeli enemy announced its recognition of the self-declared “Somaliland” region, a move rejected regionally and internationally and lacking any legal basis, as Somaliland’s unilateral declaration of independence from Somalia in 1991 has never been recognized by the United Nations.
In response, the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, warned that any Zionist presence in the region would be treated as a legitimate military target, describing the move as an aggressive attempt to establish a foothold threatening Somalia’s sovereignty, Yemen, and the security of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
