During a meeting held on Wednesday, the parliamentary leadership renewed Yemen’s firm and principled rejection of the Israeli enemy’s recognition of the so-called “Republic of Somaliland,” describing such recognition as null and void. It affirmed that the Israeli occupation entity, founded on the occupation and usurpation of others’ land, lacks any legal legitimacy under international law.
The meeting considered the Israeli intervention a blatant violation of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of the Federal Republic of Somalia, emphasizing that any claims of secession or international recognition have no legal basis.
The Parliament called on free and rational voices in the occupied provinces to prioritize the national interest and reject foreign interference in Yemen’s internal affairs, considering such interventions as a dangerous escalation, a clear violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and unity, and a threat to regional security and stability.
It stressed that the current stage requires responsible national alignment and the prioritization of the supreme interests of the Yemeni people over narrow agendas.
On another note, the Presidency of Parliament extended its sincere condolences to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) over the martyrdom of a number of resistance leaders who sacrificed their lives confronting the occupation and the Israeli killing machine. It affirmed that these leaders stood courageously against the Zionist occupation entity during two years marked by a genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The Parliament stated that the martyrdom of leaders Mohammed Sinwar, Mohammed Shabana, Hakam al-Eissa, Raed Saad, and Hudhaifa al-Kahlout (Abu Ubaida)—who faced the aggression head-on and offered their lives on the path to Al-Quds during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle—will not deter the resistance from continuing steadfastness and confrontation against the Zionist enemy.
It added that the blood of the martyred leaders will remain beacons lighting the path for future generations, symbols of dignity, struggle, and honor, toward further sacrifice until the liberation of all occupied lands, the freeing of holy sites from occupation, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
Yemen has been facing sustained foreign interference and military escalation for years, as part of broader regional projects driven by the United States, Britain, and the Zionist entity, aimed at fragmenting states, undermining national sovereignty, and imposing geopolitical control over strategic waterways and resources.
These interventions have relied on armed militias, political proxies, and imposed realities in occupied provinces, particularly in eastern and southern Yemen, including Hadramout and Al-Mahrah. Yemeni officials link these moves to parallel Israeli aggression across the region, especially the ongoing genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza, viewing them as interconnected fronts of a single project of domination, destabilization, and imposed division that violates international law and threatens regional security and stability
