News - Yemen: Lahj Governor Sheikh Ahmed Jreib has warned of the ongoing infighting among forces affiliated with the aggression in Yemen’s eastern province of Hadhramawt, stressing that clashes between these factions serve the agenda of the Saudi-Emirati occupation.

In a statement to Almasirah Net, Sheikh Jreib said the events and escalating tensions in Hadhramawt are unfolding within the framework of a dangerous scheme targeting Yemen’s unity, security, and stability. He said the plan serves foreign agendas led by the US and backed by the Israeli enemy, implemented through local tools seeking to tear apart the national fabric, impose division by force, and seize decision-making authority and resources against the will of the people of Hadhramawt and Yemen as a whole.

The governor described the so-called “constitutional declaration” issued by mercenaries of the Southern Transitional Council as a dangerous step and a blatant act of aggression against Yemen’s sovereignty and unity. He said it represents a desperate attempt to legitimize occupation and foreign tutelage and to pass partition projects with direct support from the forces of aggression, which have turned the province into an arena for settling regional and international scores, far removed from any national interest.

Sheikh Jreib added that the actions pursued by the Transitional Council’s mercenaries are an extension of the Zionist project aimed at fragmenting Arab states and dividing their territories—starting with conspiracies targeting the so-called “Somaliland” and extending to attempts to legitimize division in Yemen to control its coastlines and international maritime passages.

He held the Saudi and Emirati aggression and their local proxies to be fully responsible for the consequences of the escalation in Hadhramawt, including potential security chaos, humanitarian suffering, and the systematic plundering of Yemen’s wealth. He called on the honorable people of Hadramout—its tribes, elders, and national forces—to foil these schemes, uphold a single Yemeni identity, adhere to national principles, and reject all partition projects targeting the land and its people.

The Lahj governor reaffirmed that Yemen’s unity and sovereignty are a red line that cannot be compromised, emphasizing that the Yemeni people—who have thwarted aggression projects over the past ten years—are capable today of defeating all attempts at division and foreign tutelage, regardless of their names or tools.

Hadramout has witnessed rising tensions amid competing armed factions backed by foreign powers. Sana’a authorities have repeatedly warned that external intervention and rival proxy forces risk deepening fragmentation, undermining sovereignty, and destabilizing Yemen at a time when the country remains mired in a protracted conflict and humanitarian crisis.
