In remarks to Almasirah TV, Shamsan explained that this perception has driven the Israeli enemy to mobilize its full capabilities with direct backing from the imperialist West, led by the United States.
He noted that, according to Hebrew and Western reports, the level of threats facing the Israeli enemy has reached an unprecedented scale, unseen throughout decades of the Arab–Israeli conflict. Shamsan pointed out that the Yemeni front has imposed itself as one of the most significant battlefronts, despite having previously been classified in Israeli enemy security doctrine as a marginal threat.
Shamsan reiterated that Yemen, amid the steady growth of its military capabilities, has succeeded in imposing a suffocating naval blockade with effectiveness exceeding 99 percent. He said the blockade led to the complete shutdown of the Umm al-Rashrash port (Eilat) and severely disrupted Israeli enemy activity in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, with operations extending into the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and as far as the Mediterranean Sea—an achievement “extraordinary” and impossible to ignore.
He added that this success was achieved despite the heavy presence of US naval fleets, representing a clear failure by Washington in its role as Israel’s military protector. According to Shamsan, the US has been unable to break the blockade or halt Yemeni operations supporting the resistance inside occupied Palestine, undermining key elements of what was once considered decisive American naval superiority.
Shamsan said the Israeli enemy, in parallel with the United States, is now attempting to rebuild elements of power based on lessons learned from the previous phase of the confrontation. He cited leaked documents from the US National Security Council, indicating a reordering of regional priorities, including a shift from reliance on aircraft carriers to fixed bases and regional proxies.
He further noted reports of Israeli efforts to establish or access bases closer to Yemen, particularly in Somalia, alongside reported military activity in occupied southern Yemeni governorates such as Shabwa. These include preparations of air bases, shelters, drone and air defense systems, as well as a radar network extending from Socotra to Mayun and islands, aimed at directly exhausting Sana'a’s capabilities and reducing the distance factor that had posed a major challenge for the Israeli enemy.
Shamsan emphasized that Israeli enemy reports comparing Yemeni operations with Israeli enemy responses revealed a stark disparity in effectiveness, with Sana'a carrying out hundreds of strikes compared to only dozens of limited Israeli attacks, exposing a deep imbalance in the deterrence equation.
Regarding the US role, Shamsan said Washington and the Israeli enemy are operating as a single entity to prepare the ground for broader intervention after aircraft carriers proved ineffective as deterrence tools. He noted that the targeting of the USS Eisenhower in more than 78 naval engagements, followed by similar scenarios involving the USS Harry S. Truman and USS Abraham Lincoln, along with aircraft losses and repeated redeployments, dealt a severe blow to the prestige of the US Navy.
He concluded that Washington’s shift toward using stealth bombers instead of aircraft carriers reflects an enforced strategic adjustment stemming from the loss of maritime control, underscoring that US deterrence has significantly eroded and that what was once a symbol of power has become a source of loss and strategic confusion.'
As the regional confrontation linked to the war on Gaza continues to expand, Yemen has emerged as a key front affecting the Israeli enemy and Western military calculations. Since late 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out maritime operations in support of the Palestinian resistance, targeting Israeli-linked shipping routes across the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and beyond, drawing direct US and allied naval involvement into the conflict.
